Bottled:
Pours ruby with weak head. Vinous, sourish aroma with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Smells a bit like Anchor OSA. Flavour is vinous, sourish and has notes of caramel, spices, peat and ash. The problem with experimental micro-brews is that sometimes you just can’t tell if the bottle has gone bad or if it is supposed to taste that way.

0.5 l bottle. Hazy mahagony color. Sweetish aroma with ginger, clove, cinnamon, licorice and dark bread. Heavily spicy flavor with cristmas spices, dark rye bread, cola and plastic. The spiciness is fairly strong but not overboard.

Bottled, December 2007. Dark amber with off-white head. Aroma of x-mas spices. Flavor of caramel and yeasty fruit notes. High carbonation.

500ml bottle at London tasting, May 2008, bought at DagliBrugsen, Lyne. BBE 1 August 2009. Dark reddish colour with a slight haze and a loose beige head. Very spicy aroma, with cloves and cinnamon most evident. That’s fine in the aroma but it carries through strongly into the flavour where the spices dominate rather too much for my taste. Mouthfeel is fresh but a touch too carbonated. Overall quite tasty but the overwhelming spiciness rather throws things out of balance. A whole bottle to myself would probably have been too much. Looks like my rating falls in the middle of the others who had it at the same time - guess I can appreciate its qualities but didn’t find them entirely to my taste.

Bottle at Chris o birthday bash 08. This clearly divided opinion with 2 other people at the tasting giving it bigger numbers than me. Deep red with slight brown and orange hints. Spicy aroma. Cola-ish. Just a bit too much for me. Odd cola and spice. Not really my kind of beer.
