Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 23, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours opaque and almost black with a dense, creamy, beige head. Lightly burned malt aroma. Medium body with a very soft mouthfeel. The chocolate gives an underlying smoothness and sweetness, but otherwise it’s the lightly burned malt, that seems to dominate. Very subdued bitterness. 170207 Theis (3617), Denmark Feb 18, 2007 Bottle at ØLbutikken (Their 2 year birthday) - thanks to Ungstrup. Dark dark brown (almost black) - brwon head. Chokolate in aroma and taste. but not that stouty. Creamy, icecream, thin mouthfeeling, light burned malts. Boring. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Feb 18, 2007 Bottle. Small brown head with an average last. Colour was black. Aroma was light chocolate, coffee, roasted notes. Body medium with a slightly thin texture and a flat carbonation. Light sweet flavour with some chocolate/burned bitterness. Missing some of the chocolate flavour I was expecting. Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 18, 2007 Bottled. A pictch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet chocolaty combined with notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of chocolate, as well as a slight acidity from the har d roasted malt, the end is bitter more from the roasted malt than hops. The body is thin considering the 6.1% ABV.
