Cask - Volo Cask Days 2010, Day 1. Not quite opaque clear dark pour with a very small bubbly off-white head. Simple and somewhat sweet chocolate/licorice aroma and taste, a little sweeter-tasting than smelling, mild alcohol, a little thin, kind of peters out .... just okay.

Cask at ’Volo Cask Days 2010’ . Pours black with an average size fizzy tan head. Nice aroma of lightly roasted malt, vanilla and chocolate. Flavour follows the aroma with lightly roasted malt and chocolate but there’s something a little odd (to me) in the finish that i didn’t love. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

[3457-20101030] Cask. Fragrant chocolate malt aroma. Hazy, dark brown black body with quick off-white bubbles. More boozy chocolate malt flavour has an aftertaste of tootsie roll. Full body is boozy. Good.

2010-10-30. Black body with a small frothy tan head. 3+ Flavour has a sweet malty core, chocolate overtones are reminiscent of Ovaltine and Hershey syrup. 6+ Aroma is similar, dry dusty cocoa notes, light roast and touch of Hershey syrup. 6+ Smooth average plus bodied palate. Okay, but more enjoyable in a small serving than a full pint I suspect. Cask at Volo, Toronto

Bar Volo Cask Days Festival 2010. Originally suppose to be a cherry porter and then advertised incorrectly as a double chococate cranberry stout, it was in the end what I listed.Us geeks were looking for the nonexistent cranberry and getting cherry, whose mild sourness led to a very good black forest cake. Significant chocolate aromas.Sweetish.
