Like the region itís from, our all-malt Muskoka Craft Lager is a getaway from the average. Thatís because itís carefully aged and handcrafted to be uniquely flavourful, yet remarkably easy-drinking. Made from North American hops and malt, and winner of Canadian Lager of the Year, this delicately balanced thirst quencher is the refreshing departure youíve been waiting for

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2016 473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a thin, bubbly, white head that thins quickly. Aroma has notes of sweet grain, lager esters, slight caramel, and traditional bittering hops. Taste is balanced well with notes of bready caramel, earthy/spicy hops, slight grass and hay, fruity lager yeast, and a quick ending. Medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a mildly dry finish. Overall a well crafted lighter lager.

Pours a large bubbly foamy head and has a yellowish pale golden appearance. Has some pretty wheaty and grassy like aromas. Flavours are very malty, with lemon like bitterness. Some tangy citrus flavours, but fairly mild. Some bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but prefer other Muskoka products.

This beer had little foam but was crafty enough to be called a craft beer. Not quite what I expected, as the foamlessness was also evident in the taste pearls not passing on enough hops or bitterness. A beer that has a lot of good intentions but isnít fully there yet.

It definitely is a lager, and not a very exciting one either, but of a lemony aroma and a bit of a nutty taste but also quite watery.

Pours pale gold with white head. Good malt aroma. Malt and straw taste with a hint of nuts. Not a very good lager.†

473ml can. Pours a clear pale gold with a one finger white head. On the nose, standard straw like malt notes, a light mineral note, faint citrus, and some white bread. As for taste, clean watery malt notes with faint minerality that leads into a clean finish. In the world of pale lagers, this is pretty decent. $3.00 a can however, is a little bonkers, and better spent elsewhere.

Lovely pineapple/banana yellow color. Bright and glowing. The head doesnít stick around for long. A very crisp malt aroma that is neither bitterly German or sweetly British. I guess you could call it crisply American. The hop is strictly of the bittering variety, and it is perfectly placed. Beautifully balanced, and not too sweet. Not at all musty. The malt in the flavor is a little sweeter, with a touch of very mild lemon zest. The hops are very rounded, and there is really no sharpness at all to the flavor. Very very pleasant. Feels slick but with some body. I think this is one of the better lagers Iíve had in a while. I know most lagers are kinda wack but this one is one I wouldnít mind drinking all day.

Can from the LCBO that i bought mistakenly in a rush, thinking it was Winter Weiss. I planned to return it but had a hankering for a lager tonight, It has the nose of a nice lager, grassy malts, some lemon, light fruitiness. Taste falls flat, bland malt, no hops to speak of. I mean itís a pale lager so itís supposed to be bad, right?

Sigh. This is a lager alright. Cereal and hay and honey. Light spice. Mineral water and mild bitterness. Let's call this vaguely drinkable and leave it at that. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can brought to the cottage by a guest as a thank-you - I KNEW they didnít like me. Iíll admit I am a tough person to buy a beer for if youíre not in the know like you are. Plus, Muskoka is seemingly a very apropos cottage beer. And really, with beers like Twice Mad and the now defunct Legendary Oddity Muskoka has proved that they can make a good beer. But this beer is junk. Pours golden with white head, smells of blandly hay and rough malts, and some mild syrup. And tastes like...giving up. Itís harsh malts, that ends with an astringent bitterness. As does this review.
