Like the region it’s from, our all-malt Muskoka Craft Lager is a getaway from the average. That’s because it’s carefully aged and handcrafted to be uniquely flavourful, yet remarkably easy-drinking. Made from North American hops and malt, and winner of Canadian Lager of the Year, this delicately balanced thirst quencher is the refreshing departure you’ve been waiting for

473ml can. Gold pour, small white head with modest lacing. Aroma has grains, grass and straw notes. Taste is pretty grainy, some sweetness in the middle, faint hop note. Grainy aftertaste, light body, lots of carbonation. To my surprise this was pretty tasty for a pale lager,

Sigh. This is a lager alright. Cereal and hay and honey. Light spice. Mineral water and mild bitterness. Let's call this vaguely drinkable and leave it at that. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can brought to the cottage by a guest as a thank-you - I KNEW they didn’t like me. I’ll admit I am a tough person to buy a beer for if you’re not in the know like you are. Plus, Muskoka is seemingly a very apropos cottage beer. And really, with beers like Twice Mad and the now defunct Legendary Oddity Muskoka has proved that they can make a good beer. But this beer is junk. Pours golden with white head, smells of blandly hay and rough malts, and some mild syrup. And tastes like...giving up. It’s harsh malts, that ends with an astringent bitterness. As does this review.

At the stone lion in Toronto. Smells like a lager. The taste is fresh, even with some banana. Not a good lager.

Poured from a bottle. Clear golden color, small white head. Musky yeast aroma. Medium body with a nut and yeast flavor and a medium finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A subdued aroma of hay and yeast. Clear pale straw color, no head with a nutty taste and a light body. No real finish.

Can at Firefly, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of grains and light corn. Flavour is clean and crisp, with corn, crackery malt and graininess. Fairly grassy and crisp. Solid but boring.

Can. Light gold pour with a white head. Little aroma. Honey, white bread, lemon type thing. Fine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really liked it. Smooth pour with white head that unfortunately disappears almost immaculately. However, that is where the disappointment ends. It has golden colour with a bit of hue to it. . Nearly imperceptible aroma consisting of honey and yeast. Just a crisp after taste with just small amount of bitterness in it.

Couleur blonde translucide avec un col plus ou moins résistant. Aromes de céréales, une lager rien d’exeptionnel,...

Pours a light straw colour. Thin white head that rapidly dissipates. Aromas of salt and vinegar chips, and the merest hint of wet cardboard. Palate is thin, and light bodied. Tastes are light vanilla biscuits, and weak green apples sourness. Overall, I love the Muskoka heavy hitters, but this isn’t one of them. More like one of their early offerings trying to draw in the macro crowd. Would not buy again.
