Vertical Bacon Strips (1616) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 19, 2010
Crystal clear amber brew, small off white skiff and sticky lacing. Booooring aroma. Light caramel, some other things, light fruit... seriously, I cannot get any aroma from this - I even let it sit for 45 mins to give it a fair shake. It doesn’t smell bad but if I gotta fight that hard to detect it, well, that sucks. Breath check. Yup. Smells. Yet not like beer. Am I being tricked? The taste ain’t too bad but forgettable. Caramel, light fruit, ok bitterenss, actually I dig the bitterness here. The sweetness revolves around honey I think, toasty malts. Dull hops. Feels a bit zippy in my mouth and I’m getting really gassy - the type that seems blocked up in your throat until you half puke it out and cough and burn your eyes and yet you can’t get rid of that feeling so you keep drinking beer thinking it will help but it doesn’t because this is the equivalent of a yawn that is stuck in your throat but you are attempting poorly to swim laps and cannot catch your breath partially because you can barely swim, have no technique and can only do one lap at a time so you end up almost blacking out and taking a breath every stroke and end up looking like a total retard with your wake board shorts with the peeling fuzzy red pattern and the 25$ Speedo blue goggles that you bought at SportChek in the mall after you parked very far away because you had no idea where the store was so you stopped at Buffalo and bought 3 pairs of jeans because the button fly on the last pair of non-hole pants you own is down to only the top and bottom button so your junk tries and is successful in pushing out at work as you sit in your half broken chair all day playing hearts because you are unmotivated and are thinking how to sneak out at lunch through the shop door so you can go to Earls for an extended lunch, pint and oggling of the barely 18 skanks serving you in their tight black dresses and such but the fact that CNN is on the only TV you can see is ruining the entire experience of titties and the hunan kung pow with a dozen peppers that will make you wish you never ate because tears will be shed and visions of broken glass passing thought your body during the seven trips to the toilet which you feel awkward taking a dump in when someone else in the office enters the washroom forcing you to either fake wipe or cut the loaf in half and then you have to suck it back in or you will have to wipe 17 times. Light bitter finish.

Metalchopz (1173) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 6, 2010
Originally rated July 2004. Muskoka’s first and favorite beer pours a golden colour, with a tall foamy head. Nice lacing ! Head stays steady with the heavy carbonation. Mild aromas of malts, but strong hoppy taste. Deliciously crisp and very smooth mouthfeel.

Can. Poured little head. Barely any aroma and little taste, if any at all. Not really my style though.

Draught. Pours a murky amber brown. Minimal head with nut and roasted malts in the nose. Definate nut and malt, though a little thin and doughy taste.. with a tinge of citrus.. Its odd.. Decent.. But not great.

DuffMan (4242) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 18, 2010
Can, shipped from Kingston. Pours a bright clear amber, with a densely foany tan head. Aroma is toasty toffee with soft bready accents, quite appetizing really. Flavour is pleasantly toasty with subtle hop accents in the finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Nothing overly complex here, just a tasty little session brew. Really enjoyed it.

A - Caramel and citrus (not sure if this is right, but there is something interesting here) A - Golden and clear, with short lasting and loose head T - Sweet with a movement almost to sour, like a sweettart, with a slight dry bitter finish P - Medium to light body with soft medium carbonation O - An interesting beer

500mL Can from the LCBO Discovery Pack. 5%. Clear, copper coloured pour with a decent tan head, good retention. Aroma is roast malts, hint of nuttiness, caramel. Taste is very bready, hint of dry maltiness.Creamy mouthfeel, with a breadiness thats sustained in a smoothish finish.
