JaPe (69), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 6, 2007 Updated: May 17, 2008Nice hint of cream. slightly swwet -rolls down the throat. The cream flavor really gives it something. I simple and drinkable not incredibly fancy - I like it. JesseM (661), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Dec 3, 2007 Updated: Jan 8, 2008341ml bottle from my Ontario Craft Brewing mix-pack. Pours a deep golden colour with a small white head, that quickly subsides to a spotty surface-film. The aroma is sort of grassy with a fair amount of malts, sort of mixed and not overly distinctive. The flavour is pretty much all malt, with a very creamy texture, and a hint of something sweet, tastes like, strawberries? Wow, that’s odd, but interesting. The mouth-feel is smooth and creamy, with just a slightly rough edge to it from the carbonation. This is actually my first real cream ale, I haven’t read amazing things about them, but I was still interested in the style. I think it’s still kind of a cool beer. Smooth and tasty easy drinking. probstk (1011), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Dec 2, 2007 341 ml bottle in the “Ont. Craftbrewers 6-pack” from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Just slightly hazy (??) deep golden with remnants of a white head.
Aroma: Sweet malts (caramel, toffee), fruitiness (apples, peaches, apricots and cherries)light nuttiness, bread and biscuit; a little grassy hops.
Palate: Medium body and soft carbonation; smooth and silky.
Flav.: Vague grains, light fruitiness, a bit of grassy/peppery hops, ever-so slightly off-dry; finish is flinty with barely a hint of bitterness.
Just noticed the organic designation. They seemed to have sourced better ingredients from hippie hop and grain farmers than the fine folks at Mill Street. Still underwhelming. chainman (103), Ontario, Canada Nov 22, 2007 Bottle from an OCB mix-6 pack! Pours a nice dark gold, a bit of head, but not too substantial in that dept...grassy hop aromas come through strong, and pay off in the taste. With all that colour and hoppiness, this beer is still a bit watery. I’m not a big cream ale fan, but there is a nice Ontario craft taste to this that reminds me of the days Creemore used good malts. AWS9 (222), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Oct 6, 2007 Updated: Oct 8, 2007Bottle. A dark gold, with practically no head. Smells slightly malty, though really just smells like a lager. Overall, it’s fairly bland, boring perhaps. It was alright from start to finish, but not particuarly great (or offensive in anyway). I’m starting to see why cream ales are considered a boring style of beer... (slight increase on re-rate as my 2nd was more enjoyable) pootzboy (1037), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2007 Fresh bottle:
Deep gold with some orange highlights...small sticky white cap laces well.
Aromas of succulent fruits under musty-biscuity malt...light sweetness and grassiness
Mild malty-fruity character, decent malt spine, creamy mouth feel.
Nice dose of malts and fruity esters in the front then some Kent goldings balance the center as the whole drink dries right out in the finish...light bready-tinny aftertaste.
A great classic pre-50s Canadian cream ale...true to style and fresh tasting.

Flavour is slightly hopped, but quite bready, and grainy again. I’m getting a bit of a grassy aftertaste. hmmmmm, this isnt half bad, its refreshing, not too thin. I like it.
