2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
473ml can. Not a particularly memorable beer, mostly due to an overly metallic feel to it that took away from the sweetness I often enjoy in brown ales. Good otherwise, with flavours of nuts and a hint of chocolate. Did the trick.

Had to pour this one out, very malty, I believe it was a poor malt choice, this beer could use a make over. not recommend

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
473ml can. Pours a very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is heavy on malt and straw, with lesser notes of cocoa, earth, and a hint of what smells like "off" peanuts. Taste is upfront with coffee, chocolate syrup, slightly sweet, and some straw, coffee, and biscuit in the off-dry finish.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
(can) clear dark amber, medium light brown head; aroma of roast, simple lightly sweet flavour with long light bitter finish, overall uninspired

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours very dark brown. Medium-thin light brown head fizzles for a bit then is gone. Aromas of hazelnuts, toast, maybe even something like cherries? Lively bitter roastiness. Very dry beer. Slight metallic tinge to it. My big problem though is with the mouthfeel - just absurdly thin.

473ml can from 5 pack mixer pack. Taste is of smokey chocolate and coffee. Not much too the nose. Overall probably the best I’ve sampled from this micro.

A - Roasted coffee, chocolate and caramel
A - A touch lighter then stout, with thick, but short lasting head
T - A sharp smokey bitterness is definitely the overwhelming flavor with slight sweet undertones
P - Medium to full body with light carbonation
O - A good beer...love the chocolate notes

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 31, 2010 Cannette 473 ml. 5%. Couleur brune très foncé, presque noire. Mousse beige fugasse. Arômes de chocolat et cerises noires. En bouche, elle est douce, légèrement amère. Notes de chocolat et un peu de fruits. Finale avec un peu d’amertume et de noix. Excellente et elle se boit bien.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Matt7215 sent me this from the Great White North. Thanks, eh! 473 ml can, maybe 16 oz.? Dark brown pour that’s not obscured. Thick dense tan head. Nose is sweet dark malt with a hint of lagery bitter. Taste is roasty sweet and bitter malt quickly trailing. Long lingering afters, but still clean. Enjoyable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I tried this beer on July 27, 2010 after purchasing a Muskoka Taster Pack from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a translucent dark red with brown hints. The aroma was roasted malt, caramel, and nuts. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was nutty malt, molasses, and coffee. A good beer.
