3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Matt7215 sent me this from the Great White North. Thanks, eh! 473 ml can, maybe 16 oz.? Dark brown pour that’s not obscured. Thick dense tan head. Nose is sweet dark malt with a hint of lagery bitter. Taste is roasty sweet and bitter malt quickly trailing. Long lingering afters, but still clean. Enjoyable.

I tried this beer on July 27, 2010 after purchasing a Muskoka Taster Pack from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a translucent dark red with brown hints. The aroma was roasted malt, caramel, and nuts. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was nutty malt, molasses, and coffee. A good beer.

On tap. Mild coffee, chocolate aroma. Very dark brown, with nice mocha head. The head stuck around and this thing looked like a work of art. Roasted nut, coffee, slight chocolateyness. Smooth finish. Didn’t have high expectations but this one really surprised me, great stuff.

Draught. At 2009 C’est What Fall festival. Hazy brown-red pour with an average creamy beige head. Dry, nutty roast aroma, slightly herbal - very weak. The taste is nutty roast caramel, but oddly sour, strange considering it was on draught ... Light, astringent mouthfeel, virtually flat, quick-finishing with a dry lemon-sour linger. Mmm, not so much, thanks.
