Lots of caramel in the aroma and taste – it was quite thin though with little carbonation. I enjoyed it, right up until the finish – it was yeasty and a little sour. Now I should point out I bought this 6 pack from a very small town Ontario lcbo/beer store combo and this type of “micro” beer could have been there for quite a while (there was no date stamp). So I will re-rate on another occasion. But until then, I’m left with a beer that showed some promise, but ultimately failed to deliver. GregClow (2516), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aroma is a little roasty with some caramel notes, and a bit of sourness. Body is moderate, a little creamy. Flavour is decent, with some coffee and chocolate notes, and a lingering roasty finish. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Can: Poured a clear deep brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and not lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with notes of maple syrup. Taste is dryer then expected with clear notes of caramel malt and a maple finish. Body is a bit thin with good carbonation. Maple notes were surprising but overall a bit of a run of the mill beer. MrManning (1662), London, Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 18, 2006 Bottle- Pours a transparent red/brindle with a loud froth of beige bubbles. Aroma is sheer malt/brown sugar/caramel. About as expected. The flavour profile is somewhat skewed by it’s watered down character. Some sweet malts and toffee, with underlying occasional hops ’n bitterness. Pretty thin for my tastes in a brown ale. Eructoblaster (1510), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Can - 473ml. Dark brown body with good carbonation and a thin beige bubbly head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar hints. Its dry malty taste lacks complexity and carries some metallic notes. Ends with a short bittersweet finish. Boring. tomthompson89 (1494), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
