Le liquide s’apparente à un cola. Aucune construction mousseuse.

473 ml can from LCBO. Pours a dark brown colour with a hint of red and a medium-sized tan head. Nose of caramel malt with light roastiness and nuttiness. Flavour has more prominent nuttiness, with caramel malt more muted and roastiness subtler than in the nose. Slightly dry finish. Not spectacular but good.

Can. Very dark brown red with a huge creamy off-white head. Very good retention and good lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, toffee, metal and brown sugar. Flavor is caramel, nuts, toasted malt and some hops. Thin to medium body. Average carbonation.

A - Roasted coffee, chocolate and caramel A - A touch lighter then stout, with thick, but short lasting head T - A sharp smokey bitterness is definitely the overwhelming flavor with slight sweet undertones P - Medium to full body with light carbonation O - A good beer...love the chocolate notes

341ml bottle from a fresh sixer, from the LCBO. Pours out a nice dark ruby red/brown with a medium mocha head. Aroma: Dry roast, lots of it, metallic, undertone of sweet caramalt and toffee, very nice. Flavour: Decently complex for a 5% beer, layers of the aforementioned characteristics, quite flavourful and closer to a porter really than a brown ale. At the very least this is a highly robust brown ale in all its aspects. A small hint of vanilla is definitely present, riding along a very sweet wave of the malt body. Very well done, glad to get a fresh sample of a solid Ontario brew.

Pours deep red/brown with a thin off white head. Chocolatey malt, mossy aroma. Mildly roasty. Thin body. Sweet malts, hops are very far in the back. Traces of sour, salt water taffy, some smoke and wood. Dry souring finish, not bad.

Can from sampler pack. Pours little head that retains. Had to dump it. Would not purchase again.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2010 Cannette 473 ml. 5%. Couleur brune très foncé, presque noire. Mousse beige fugasse. Arômes de chocolat et cerises noires. En bouche, elle est douce, légèrement amère. Notes de chocolat et un peu de fruits. Finale avec un peu d’amertume et de noix. Excellente et elle se boit bien.
