stlrz (4), cobourg, Ontario, Canada does not count Jul 17, 2006 one of the better discount beers. It sure taste good after work. if you got 26.40 and want a good beer the pick up a case of this JesseM (424), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Aug 16, 2008 341mL from a lone sixer at my local BS. Pours a typical but nice shining gold, small white head that reduces to a surface film. Aroma is mostly just sweet indistinct malts, with some hints of decent hops, almost Noble like. The flavour is quite nice, muted grainy sweetness, but with a nice dry hoppy finish and bite, maybe a tad Saaz-like. There’s a hint of something in it that I can’t quite put my finger on, that is quite nice. On a hot day, as the cliche goes, this hits the spot, but I’m more impressed by the quality of it for a near buck-a-beer. The hops really steal the show, being kind of a Noble-Saaz mix up that doesn’t actually conflict. A case of being very decent for what it is. Lighten up people, sheesh. yarry (353), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Dec 30, 2006 341ml Bottle, 5% a/v
Pours honey gold colour, with a white head slightly tinged gold. The nose is of malts mainly and a hint at some grassy and slight caramel notes. The taste is somewhat malty with a nice clean finish. Not a spectacular beer, but certainly nothing wrong with it.
Ill be getting this again, for the price you cant go wrong! Boutip (1855), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 22, 2006 Bottle form Lubière: Poured a deep golden color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of sweet and floral malt is quite interesting. Taste is also sweet but the floral and grassy feel is what rally kept me interested in this beer. Body is light and it does lack complexity but let’s just say that I have seen worse pale lager then this one. jerc (3268), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 26, 2004 Crisp yellow body with a moderate white head. Slight notes of vague fruit and cereal, grains in the aroma. Sweetish grainy flavour. Quite quaffable, but not particularly exciting. Reminds me a bit of how I remember Big Rock Kold being.
