Muskoka Harvest Ale was our brewery’s pioneering venture into seasonal beers. Now in it’s fourth year, our Harvest Ale symbolizes the end of the growing season and the process of gathering mature crops from the fields Dry hopped and brewed using the finest ingredients we can find, this ale has a subtle grassy character reminiscent of the freshly cut harvest. It’s our way of celebrating another prosperous growing season. And we’re proud to share it with you.

Terrific pale ale. Hoppy and bitter but refreshing and drinkable while retaining a good dense mouthfeel. It’s hard to find a beer that strikes the balance between drinkability and flavour as well as this one. Well done.

Cask Sample Toronto Beer Experience. Light amber pour with thin white head. A little sweet roast malt aroma. Medium to light bodied. Dry with bitterness in finish. Probably should try again.

750ml swing top bottle, slight cloudy amber hue, with a thick beige head, sweet toasted, biscuity, caramel malt, faint candied fruity nose of lemon rinds, with some mild toffee, cookie, dough notes, and some earthy floral hop citrusy accents in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, spicy, sweet fruity, toasted, caramel malt, earthy flowery hop leafy, grassy character with some herbal hoppy minty undertones and some hints of tobacco leaf, leading towards a malty, fruity citrusy, leafy, grassy hop bitterness finish.

750 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in an English pint glass. Pours clear dark amber with a frothy off-white head. The head fades slowly and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The aroma is sweet and fruity, with notes of caramel, flowers, pine and some citrus. The flavour is well balanced, beginning somewhat sweet and moderately bitter. By the end, it has become more internsely bitter with notes of leafy hops. The finish is average in length and fairly dry, with hop notes. It is medium-full in body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a nice fall ale: big in the body with a good dose of malt, but dry hopped for balance. I would definitely have another of these. 2010-10-29

Cloudy dark amber with a nice thick head that didn’t stick around too long. Citrussy aroma with a hint of malt and a wonderful taste. Rich, almost fruity with a good undercurrent of bitterness. Clean finish. By far the best thing I’ve ever had from Muskoka and would love for this to be a regularly brewed ale.

Clear brown pour with a white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy, a little musty. Not much on the nose. Flavor is again, just a bit hoppy, some light caramel. Not very impressive.

Pours an appetizing cherry (the wood no the fruit) red with a foamy white head that fizzles down to a film. The aroma is complex, malty, caramel/toffee, a light touch of roastiness, some citrus, tropical fruits, good start. The flavour doesn’t disappoint, starts out citrusy, little notes of tropical fruit, toffee and malts balance the hops, and then some hops show up again at the end of the party with a little bit of orange rind and tropical fruit that trails into the finish. It’s a very decent offering from one of my more favored Ontario breweries. It’s actually exceptional if you consider the fact it’s from Ontario. Good job Muskoka, keep doin what your doin.

750 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a deep copper with large egg-shell head. Caramel/toffee malt and citric hops in the aroma. Flavour is nicely balanced between sweet caramel and toffee and citrus hops. Moderate bitterness in finish. Very enjoyable.

750ml Bottle. Pours hazy deep orange amber with frothy off-white head. Sweet aromas of caramel malt and burnt toffee with a nice hit of citrus from the hops. Grapefruit flavours and a medium bitterness, persistent through the smoothly sweet medium-light body. Finish is medium-dry with a nice lingering bitterness. Very nice work.

750ml bottle. Pours dark copper, reddy in colour, with big tan head. Aroma and flavour are malt heavy, with hints of hops. Really enjoyable, exactly what you’d be looking for in a Harvest Ale. Local ingredients to boot! Great job Muskoka!
