4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: SEP 22, 2013 Pours clear copper with a frothy off white head. The aroma is of caramel, sweet malt, and fresh, slightly funky hops. The taste is crisp citrus and spice up front, with a strong hop finish. Nice medium body and well balanced all around.
On cask at the Wooly. Pours clear copper with a rocky, light tan head. The aroma is of caramel malt, fresh hops, clove and cinnamon, and light esters - perfect for fall. The lower carbonation and higher temp benefits this beer - I get more complex malt flavour, balancing out a firm but not extreme, American hop finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: OCT 4, 2012 750 mL Bottle. Pours a copper body with a nice white head that settles to a tenacious film leaving generous lace. Intense aroma of sweet malts, resiny hops and a hint of toffee. The flavor is definitely full bodied; intense with loads of sweet malt and crystal malt, intense resiny and peppery "grapefruit rind" hops tapering to a toffee finish. An excellent sipping beer that represents the time of year itís suited for.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 mL bottle. Pours a very attractive copper brown, a fine white head with minimal lacing. Aromas of malt, pine and toffee sweetness. The flavour profile lines right up with the aromas, a wallop of toasty malt sweetness, caramel and butterscotch, followed by a good bite of bittering hops, citrus and lanolin notes with a smooth finish. Medium full on the palate with decent carbonation and a lingering finish. Drank this one a little warm by accident, and rather happy I did, really rounds it out nicely. A textbook APA, and another great offering from Muskoka breweries.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clear orange brown with lots of white head that dissipates slowly leaving lots of lacing, also has some visible carbonation. Smell is really nice, lots of hops, citrus, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, everything a harvest ale should be. Palate is a bit oily with light body and not much carbonation on the tongue. Taste is pretty good, a bit sweet at first, with a bit of spice as a prelude to the nice roundness of the hops filling the palate. The aftertaste is a bit lacking however, and should be more bitter.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy copper color with a strong Cascade hoppy smell that bring out some grassy and Piney notes. Lotís of hop on the palate with a moderate mouth feel. Finishes with a bit of bitter hop that goes away quickly, can drink this all day long.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap @ Hintonburg Public House. Pours a clear amber with a thick beige head. Aromas are grass and citrus. Taste is bright citrus fruit (pineapple?) and citrus hops. Mouthfeel is creamy with mid-range carbonation. What stands out is the lack of a long astringent finish that is typical of these uber-hoppy styles. The bitterness is cumulative however. Nice beer!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
It pours amber with sienna highlights; the head is light beige and marshmallow-like. The aroma has notes of: pine resin, grapefruit, toasted biscuit, and treacle. The taste is medium dry and slightly astringent that finishes medium bitter; there are notes of: grapefruit, caramel, lavender, and slight toasted grain. The palate is medium-light bodied, medium carbonation, and a medium finish. Overall, itís fairly interesting, however not enough to raise both eyebrows.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
In short: A lame IPA with overripe fruits
How: Bottle 750ml flip-top, 2011 batch, consumed relatively fresh 1.5 month after purchase
The look: Almost clear dark amber body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is not very hoppy showing light notes of wet grass, ripe citrus fruits over a barley candy. Taste has too much overripe red fruits and overripe citrus fruits, even some ripe bananas, some barley candy, wet dishcloth, dank hops, hops resin. Juicy bitterness with a rotten fruits flavor. This was a pretty lame beer. I was told this is was a boring beer, but do you know why I bought this bottle anyway? Seriously Iím asking. Please tell me because I have no idea why.
