decent brew but nothing exceptional. Pours a nice amber colour with moderate head and lingering lacing. Nice grassy nose and a nice decent hoppiness in the taste. Again mainly hay/grassy flavours.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This ale poured a beautiful amber colour with a medium, bright white head. Aromaís include hopps, hops and more hopps. Citrus, grass and pine most prodominate.A little malt/caramel and spice too. First sip was mildly carbonated with an attack of bitter hops to the tongue. Flavours of spruce and citrus very powerful. finish is bitter with a sharp spruce flavour lasting on the palate.

Pours reddish brown with a thick white head. aroma is floral and hopy, smells great. Nice robust hop flavour with deep sweet malt flavours. this is an excellent brew. If I could find it on tap it could be my new standard. Drinkable and full of flavour. This is a great beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. A straight-forward, well-balanced pale ale, with sufficient hops and malts. Nice amber pour with decent white head too. A really solid, drinkable ale. No surprises here, but thatís not always necessary.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 20, 2013 RE-RATE: first glass off the keg tapped at Brothers BeerBistro, Ottawa. Even better than last year. More assertive hop character, deeper, richer malts. Beautiful. (Original rating = 3.6)
Big swing-top bottle shared with Parksy, Davey, and Jeff. Handsome orange-amber body with a bubbly white crown that retains well and leaves drippy lace. Aroma is rich with earthy leafy hops and underlying toasty malts. Fresh hoppy palate, citrus peel and tea leaves, nuances of spice and earth. Very tasty, more English in character than American.

On tap at Pub Italia, Ottawa. Familiar with this seasonal ale from the bottle. Pours a deep brown colour, not quite opaque but itís colour does belie itís hoppy nature. fresh malty aroma, some grassy notes and perhaps some citrus in there. Nice balanced flavour between the hops and malts. Definitely one iíd pick up again when i see it. Itís a big bottle for 6.4%

Purchased at the LCBO. Refreshing ale with a lovely, citrusy bitterness up front. Pours a beautiful copper colour. A very good ale to drink in fall weather.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear bright pumpkin orange with a thin but lasting head and some lacing. Aroma is sweet light malt with a slight sour hop funk. Hop bite right from the get go, then the flavour rounds out to slightly watery caramel malt. Very present alcohol - peppery finish. Crisp body with ample but not overstated carbonation. Quaffable, but slightly sweet and boozy without being thick. Good all-round.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
The pour is a bright coppery auburn with a finger of yellow tinted head and no carbonation. Beautiful thick lines of frothy lacing. THe aroma is fresh and grassy with a huge dry hop and light malty toasted caramel and overall sweetness. The middle is sweet and fruity with a beautiful grapefruit and sweet caramely malts. A huge resinous and dry finish with a prolonged hop bitterness. A good amount of grapferuit acidity and light herbal pine. The mouthfeel is a little to lacking in body with no carbonation. Overall, a beautiful fresh hop brew with a taste more akin to an IPA then an APA.
