Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Aug 12, 2009 Can - 473ml. Hazy golden body with heavy carbonation and and instantly fading white bubbly head. Thin malty aroma with some strange barefoot-like hints. Boring malty/hoppy taste with bready, banana and yeasty notes. Ends with a barely noticeable bittersweet finish. It feels like I got a really bad sample. (Rating #2522) wilderthanyou (409), Guelph, Ontario, Canada Jul 20, 2009 Pours a lightly hazy gold with a thin foamy head. The aroma is banana loaf, a touch of clove and yeast. The flavour is good, banana loaf, clove, some yeast, all and all very good. A touch of clove spice in the finish. An easy drinking, refreshing, tasty brew, good job Muskoka. Diogène (543), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 9, 2009 Can. Hazy yellow with a thin frothy head. Poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is typical weizen with banana esters, cloves, whet and malt. Flavor is also banana esters with cloves, wheat, yeast and malt. Medium body. Fizzy carbonation. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 8, 2009 New single serve 500ml can, LCBO. Pours a nice light but hazy yellow with lots of streaming bubbles and a nice fluffy white head that does diminish too quickly. Nice clove, banana, yeast aroma - right on style. Taste is excellent - lots of banana and I think esters - not sure what those are, but that is the word that popped in my head, especially in the finish. Almost spicy in the finish as well. A beautiful Hefe - break out the re-ratings boys and drink this one all summer long, we finally have a solid Ontario made readily available Hefe! Boutip (2333), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 6, 2009 Can: Poured a lightly hazy dirty orangey color ale with a rather large foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of bubblegum and banana is very nice. Taste is also a nice mix between some banana bread and bubblegum 3ith some quite delectable wheat malt. Body is about average with great carbonation. Very well done with some really interesting ester. matt7215 (942), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada May 30, 2009 500 ml can from jessem. pours hazy orange with a white head. the aroma is classic hefe. bananas, cloves, yeast. the flavour is the same as the aroma. this is a true to style hefe in a can. great for the summer. thx for the can jesse! JesseM (660), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada May 28, 2009 Updated: May 30, 2009473mL can from the LCBO, just in, as fresh as can be. Pours a nice cloudy light gold with a small white head (small for a Hefe). The aroma is awesome, perfect Hefe profile, almost reminds me of Denison’s. Sweet malts, hay, banana, clove, bubblegum, yeast, etc. Awesome. Flavour is equally awesome, very sweet the whole way through, malt body dominating subtle hops. Very big on the fruity esters and sweet, sweet malts, with a touch of dryness from the yeast, and rounding itself almost watery on the palate. Very nice, what a semi-rare treat. I feel like Hefeweizen is an ignored style in the OCB, though maybe that’s just because we get so many awesome imported versions as well as the domestic dominance in quality of Denison’s. Still, this is a very nice beer and I plan on buying plenty more to support it. Solid format too, I’ve never had a Hefe from a can before.
