473mL can from the LCBO, just in, as fresh as can be. Pours a nice cloudy light gold with a small white head (small for a Hefe). The aroma is awesome, perfect Hefe profile, almost reminds me of Denison’s. Sweet malts, hay, banana, clove, bubblegum, yeast, etc. Awesome. Flavour is equally awesome, very sweet the whole way through, malt body dominating subtle hops. Very big on the fruity esters and sweet, sweet malts, with a touch of dryness from the yeast, and rounding itself almost watery on the palate. Very nice, what a semi-rare treat. I feel like Hefeweizen is an ignored style in the OCB, though maybe that’s just because we get so many awesome imported versions as well as the domestic dominance in quality of Denison’s. Still, this is a very nice beer and I plan on buying plenty more to support it. Solid format too, I’ve never had a Hefe from a can before.

How ’bout a can full of hazy golden banana-bubblegum clovey refreshment? This is a pretty stylistically correct German Hefe (no they are not all heavy as Panzer tanks, and yes, some good ones are sold in cans.) I assume this is filtered and pasteurized, but it does the trick nicely with fruity sweet tones set off by citric and hoppy balance. A surprisingly usable find at LCBO! I will drink this just because it is both serviceable (thank you pootz) and I imagine bulletproof in this format.

I tried this beer on May 23, 2009 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer pou5red a hazy gold colour with a thin white heade. The aroma was wheat malt, banana, and some spices. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was wheat malt, clove, and spices. A very good Canadian version of the great German style.

Very bubbly and a hint of banana in the aroma, but the flavour wasn’t as pronounced as the carbonation. A real burp inducer

Appearance is not as cloudy as other hefe’s, but still honey coloured. Approipriate carbonation for style. Bananna, yeast, cloves and even a little pepper are all in the aroma and follow into the flavour with the addition of wheat. Pretty watery for a hefeweizen. Still very drinkable and one of the few Canadian produced wheats that tries to emulate the German style rather than a Belgan wit.

341ml bottle: Hazy yellow-orange with no head but lively carbonation. Aromas of yeast, fruit and spice. Subdued flavours of banana, wheat and citrus. Disappointingly thin but very refreshing.

Bottle from robinvboyer. Pours a deep hazy yellow color with a small white head, looks like peach juice almost. Smell is wheat, and bananna/rum and butter sort of esters. Flavour as well is very much wheat, with some citrusy flavours and floral kinda notes along with the esters again. There are some spicy notes there as well. Carbonation is pretty low, but nice, and the mouthfeel isn’t too bad either.
