Summer Weiss, 750mL bottle from the LCBO. Pours a hazy straw orange with a good bit of head that dissipates slowly, though carbonation remains evident. Smell is fairly sweet, definite banana, and some spiciness. Palate is pretty decent with average carbonation a light to medium body. Taste is not quite what Iíd expct, a bit hoppier and less sweet than expected also a bit lacking in aftertaste.

Muskoka Summer Weiss. Hazy straw with a pronounced, white head. The aroma is yeastier than beers of this style usually are, with some lemon as well. The taste is yeasty, with some warming spices - cinnamon, clove, coriander. Medium-bodied, and an appreciable and noticeable amount of hops. This is certainly different from the German standards of the style, and another very solid Muskoka offering.

Straw gold without much head. Banana, wheat and some spice on the nose. Lots of wheat, orange peel, some clove and banana. Lightly carbonated and smooth. A tad drying on the finish.

750ml bottle. Pours an intense orange, a little cloudy. Head is small, little retention and almost no lacing. Aroma of orange, coriander, yeast, grass and dried fruits. Strong taste of grains, yeast, spices and bananas. Very decent.

In short: A watery filtered hefe. Very bland
How: Bottle 750ml swing-top. Consumed a few months after purchase
The look: Clear
In long: Basic nose of wheat and some bananas. Taste is weak, body is a bit watery (why do you filter a german hefe?), soft hay, some bubblegum, notes of ginger. No hops. There was nothing offensive about this beer, but it was just very very bland. I drank this bottle while my wife was beside me drinking a bottle of Schneider Wiesen Edel-Weisse and the Muskoka felt so totally outclassed by the Schneider it wasnít even funny. And now Iím pretty pissed Muskoka for making this bland beer and Iím pretty upset at me for buying it and to be honest Iím pretty pissed at everything, itís just that Iím always very grumpy before I have my coffee, and I donít drink coffee.

Swingtop bottle. Clear gold pour with white head. Aroma is very wheaty, lots of cloves, light banana. Taste is quite spicy, lots of cloves, again light banana flavors, sweet. Palate is on the heavy side of things to my liking, a tad syrupy. Not bad, juste slightly heavy.

750ml swing-top bottle summer 2011 edition. Pours dark hazy yellow with an okay white head. Wonderful aroma of banana, cloves citrus and hefe yeast. taste is sweet with banana, what and hefe yeast. Overall a pretty good beer but doesnít compare to the top German Hefeweizens.

bottle. Poured clear amber with a thin white head. Yeasty aroma with clove. Crisp, carbonated mouthfeel, light. Pale malt, wheat flavour, notes of clove, orange, bananas. A bit musty, but this isnít my favorite style.
