Pours hazy dark yellow with a moderate density off-white head. The aroma has grainy sweet wheat malt, banana, hints of spicy citrus and a 7-Up spritz. Medium body with a generous amount of semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts much grainer than normal (but a welcome change) with lots of wheat, but less richness than usual, lots of peppery spice and not as much banana esters. The finish has a lemon pepper kick. Overall this was a different, but enjoyable hefe. TheJester (705), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

(Reduces, but doesn’t disappear.) Aroma of malt, citrus and wheat yeast spice. Heavily carbonated. Taste is surprisingly good: pepper, cloves, banana, citrus. Some sweetness near the end. I’ll get this one again. MrManning (1644), London, Ontario, Canada

Topped with a huge froth of beige foam that dies down to a thin ring. Nose is huge on cloves and banana, lots of yeast, perfume, bubblegum, floral spices. This hefe delivers big Bavarian flavours. Lots of banana and yeast, bubblegum, some orange, cloves and other assorted spices. Creamy, well balanced. This is medium bodied and full on flavour, quite refreshing. A major step up. Excellent. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 27, 2006 Draught @ West 50, Mississauga: I’m a big fan of the style, but the further I delve into beer-dom the more I realize it’s a style that’s often poorly done. Exhibit A. Pours a tremendous white/yellow in colour, offering a gradient look in the glass leading up to a good foam white head that would go on to leave cheese-cloth style lacing. Good so far. Aroma is heavy in yeast and citrus. Mouthfeel is horrid to my personal taste, very sharp and carbonated, hard to hold in and savour. Flavour is a sum of parts - yeast here, wheat there, lemon here. nothing really comes together. Not "bad", per se, but you can find much better hefeweizen. tomthompson89 (1474), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Lots of lace, some wheat aroma, perhaps the glass was cleaned in antiseptic, though only a few days’ old. Above average carbonation. Drinkable and not bad, though too sweet and carboard fruitiness, but mediocre for the style. CapFlu (3481), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 19, 2006 (Bottle) Pours a pretty poor beer. At first taste I thought of my Dad’s Molson Golden... than I got hit by the weak and wet wheat. This was another poor performance by Toronto’s cottage brewers.
