3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20Volo IPA challenge. Appearance: Orange with a large bubbly white head. Aroma: Fresh hops, lemon rind/citrus with malt. Flavour: Light hop flavour, caramel and lemon zest, quite muted compared to the aroma. Not bad.

Cask at Volo IPA Challenge. Pours a clear orange with a long-lasting bubbly white head. Aroma of fresh green hops and not much else, it smells nice though (7+). Flavour’s not as good, just a touch inferior to the aroma, with the hops mainly showing up in the long bitter finish (7-). Medium bodied. Pretty good overall.

A lightly hazed golden amber IPA with a thin big bubbled off white head. In aroma, a sweet caramel malt with faint herbal hops. In mouth, a nice grassy hops over biscuit malt, nice and smooth, menthol notes, nice. Cask at Ontario Cask IPA Challenge, April 21, 2012.

[4388-20120421] Cask. Light lemon-scented toast crumbs aroma. Slightly hazy, Orange body with quick bubbles for a head. Lightly bitter toasted butter lemon skins flavour. Medium body. Tasty. (7-/3/7/3+/15) 3.5

On cask at Volo (Monday post IPA Challenge). Pours a fairly clear dark orange colour with small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, light citric hops and caramel. Flavour is somewhat restrained with fruit, citrus and sweet caramel malt. Modest bitterness. Average body. Decent.

2012-04-21. Lightly hazy, bright dark orange body with a small frothy white head. 3+ Sweet aroma, notes of honey and pecan/walnut like touches, muted fruit and whispers of citrus. 6+ Light bitterness, mild fruit character is pleasant, modest malt. Average bodied palate. Bit mild overall but nice. Cask at Volo IPA Challenge

Orange body with a small bubbly head. A good drinkable IPA with a pleasant citrus flavour,also well malted, Satisfying, smooth though middling mouthfeel and a winner to me although only 40 IBU. Nice crafted cask.
