3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 blankboy (5136) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 19, 2011
Bottle [355ml]. I’ve had many bottles of this and have had it numerous times on tap so it’s time to finally rate it! Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with an average size lasting frothy off-white head. Slightly mild but nice aroma of citrus hops and tropical fruit along with some caramel malt and cereal grain in the back. Tasty flavour of citrus hops, some pine and tropical fruit along with some pale malt in the back. Nice bitterness to it with a decent bitter finish. Medium bodied. Great job Muskoka, this is an easy-to-drink, refreshing, flavourful IPA -- I’m very psyched to have another solid IPA in Ontario, it’s about time!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 strowlands8 (170) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 19, 2011
Flavour and aroma are both quite fruity, definitely some orange, maybe grapefruit among others. The bitterness lasts from the initial sip through the aftertaste. Super nice refreshing beer, nice to see some IPAs coming out of Ontario.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2013 2011-06-26. No notes, found the hop character to have more tropical fruit along with the citrus. Bit more green hops come out in the finish as the glass goes on. Bit more body than the cask sample, which is to be expected. Lovely. On Tap at Session 2011
2011-06-21. Hazy orange body with a modest frothy white head. 3+ Modest hoppy aroma has an interesting citrus character - orange and tangerine. 7+ Flavour is similar, lovely citrus, lemons, grapefruit, lingering bitterness and lemon seed in the aftertaste. 7+ Smooth average palate is just a touch light but this seems to help make it refreshing. Quite nice, and significantly better than my previous sample. 7/4/7+/3/15+ Cask, C’est What Festival of Small Breweries
2011-07-19. Crisp orange body with a small beige head. Flavour is modestly bitter throughout, interesting fruity character, sort of a mango tropical fruit like character. Light bitterness lingers in the finish. Modest hoppy aroma is similar, mango and fruit. Average palate is lightly carbonated. Okay, but I expected a lot more based on what others had described. I will have to try this one again I think. 6/3/6/3/14 - 3.2 On tap at Volo, Toronto

Definitely big pine presence up front. Not the balance you’d get from the true greats in this category, but nonetheless a brilliant hoppy brew.

A veritable pine forest in a liquid format. Deep amber, pours a large froth of sticky beige foam. Nose of freshly broken pine needles, mint, citrus, a bit of caramel. Quite bitter, heavily astringent, with only a subtle malty sweetness. Medium full body, lovely fresh hop bitterness is very bright. Excellent effort.

Bottle purchased at the beer store. Pours a amber colour, nice thick white head and droopy lacing. Decent carbonation. Aroma is hoppy and sweet. Tastes like hop and bites a little bitter. Nice brew.

Bottle. Poured light amber with little head that faded rather quickly. Aroma is of mostly citrus but a hint of pine. Taste is the same. Finish is a little flat. Reminds me a lot of racer 5. I’m a fan of really strong and piney IPA’s and this one is a little weak but still an excellent beer.

The Beer Store sells an IPA...the Beer Store sells an IPA...the Beer...sorry, lost my head there. Very citrusy on the nose with a very mild head. and more citrus on the first taste. I won’t go so far as to put it in with the more aggressive IPAs but it’s quite a good example of the less hop-forward ones.

Pours a clear yellow with a frothy white head. Aroma is big citrus hops and slight grain malt. Taste is crisp, fresh, light body and big citrus hops. Moderate to solid hop bitterness. Very refreshing, perhaps my new go to IPA beer.

Bottle, 6 pack, beer store. yes, the friggin’ beer store, congrats Muskoka for pursuing an alternative distribution method, what a pleasant surprise!! All citrus hop in aroma, this is very promising. Medium yellow (not orange), small white head. Taste is up front citrus that I crave from an Ontario brewer (or anyone really). Some alcohol in middle, long bitter finish. Yes, this is it, thank you Muskoka!!! So many Ontario brewers are doing this one off, you are the first to bottl in and make it available in 6 packs. There is nothing English style, Ontario style, or even APA about this. I am off to buy the rest of the Waterloo Beer Store (ira Needles/Erb St.) supply tomorrow.
