4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours orange/amber with a little white head. Nose of hop, cereal, pine, apricots and pineapple. A vivacious fun and adventurous IPA from an area that usually doesnít like to play with this style. Muskoka Brewery has come a long way. Unexpectedly boozey, compared to some other local offerings. Resiny, acidic and aggressive. Totally unbalanced, but malts are not forgotten at all. Itís high time that something like this has quietly wandered in. Very Drinkable. Holds its own. Delicious.

Cheers JoeMcPhee. Clear golden orange colour with a great looking frothy white head and lace. Peach, fruit gum, hop aroma. Very pleasant. Refreshing hop bitterness. Fruit peach flavour. tangy citrus finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled sample. Dark gold in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Aromas are of white grapefruit, orange, herbs, and minerals. Solid crispy pale malt base in the mouth, backed by more herbal and citrusy hops. Chunky solid bitterness. Nothing over the top, but a really solid and Chinook heavy IPA. Definitely one of the best Ontario IPAís Iíve tried/

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2013 Fresh, citrus and pine aroma. Very grapefruity taste, perfect level of hop bitterness - a lot of brews go too far. This is a cloudy, blonde beer with a dissipating head. A fairly dry, refreshing finish.

Thanks to both JB84 and pushkinwow for sending me this beer! Pours a hazy golden with a good size head on it. Some grapefruit and orange scent but not overly strong. Tastes a bit grassy with some grapefruit. Quite bitter. Not too bad!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
355ml bottle. Aroma is strongly sweet, pink grapefruit citrus hops with undertones of spruce, florals and caramel malt. Pours a light, cloudy amber with some sediment. Good amount of slightly yellow head. Pink grapefruit taste with a little caramel. Tastes a lot of hops, but not as much bitterness as Iíd expect. Lighter body for an IPA. Overall, light and sweet for an IPA; itís good, but not great.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: A bottle grapefruity and orangy bitter hops with no malt backbone. Good refresgubg summer hop-fix
How: Bottle 355ml. Consumed fresh a week after purchase
The look: Partly cloudy blonde body, lots of tiny particles, small white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is tangy/grapefruity hops with not sign of malts. Taste is pretty much the same. This beer is cruelly lacking in the malt department with only traces of basic plain crackery malts swimming in a yeast and hop soup. But the lack of malts didnít bother me much because the hop bill is right for that kind of beer. Nothing resinous and not overly dry hopped. Just a good amount of grapefruity hops with notes of freshly squeeze oranges and orange peels. Lemony acidity. Sharp biting bitterness of medium intensity. This beer is just high alpha-acid hops with no malts to balance it off and it works to a certain extent. A refreshing bottle of bittering hops, nothing more, nothing less. I like this beer because it is very inexpensive so I can even give bottles to my imaginary friends that live in my head, because Iím like Ikea furniture in a box, Iím cheap and Iím missing a couple of screws.
