In short: A bottle grapefruity and orangy bitter hops with no malt backbone. Good refresgubg summer hop-fix
How: Bottle 355ml. Consumed fresh a week after purchase
The look: Partly cloudy blonde body, lots of tiny particles, small white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is tangy/grapefruity hops with not sign of malts. Taste is pretty much the same. This beer is cruelly lacking in the malt department with only traces of basic plain crackery malts swimming in a yeast and hop soup. But the lack of malts didnít bother me much because the hop bill is right for that kind of beer. Nothing resinous and not overly dry hopped. Just a good amount of grapefruity hops with notes of freshly squeeze oranges and orange peels. Lemony acidity. Sharp biting bitterness of medium intensity. This beer is just high alpha-acid hops with no malts to balance it off and it works to a certain extent. A refreshing bottle of bittering hops, nothing more, nothing less. I like this beer because it is very inexpensive so I can even give bottles to my imaginary friends that live in my head, because Iím like Ikea furniture in a box, Iím cheap and Iím missing a couple of screws.

Had this months back and like it even thought im not a hop head but ipaís are the better hoppy beerís. Gives a 2-3 finger head looks nice. I attempted to chug this since I had it b4 but ipaís are not easy 2 chugg. Most down 1st attempt but 2 sips 2 do it. Filling and chugging it gives a nice buzz. It smells of citrus mostly and hopís. taste of citrus, pine AND HOPS. Not a hope head but I like it. cheerís.

Pours cloudy dark yellow with thick pillowy head and some floaties. Aroma is big citrus and tropical fruit hops. Taste is a big, hop-led IPA. Some serious dry-hopping here. Pretty intense bitter finish. I like some more malt balance in my IPAs generally, but this is well made for what it is,

Drank on tap (20 oz) at Black Tomato (Ottawa) on November 13, 2011. Reddish pale, thin head. Sweet aroma of grapefruit hops. Grapefruit hop flavor, some notes of herbs, aftertaste of bitter herb. Wow! This is not crap!

Wow... this is from Muskoka ?? Quite a hoppy brew. Pours a deep golden colour with an amber hue and a medium off-white head that creates a nice coat over the brew and thick lacing. Beautiful fresh hoppy nose. The other nice thing about this beer is that it is not filtered to the max. Good bitterness in the taste with the malt being smooth in the background. What nice Canadian IPA that is easy-drinking, hoppy and a treat from Muskoka.

12 oz bottle from the LCBO, served in a tulip. Pours clear amber with a moderate off-white head. The head fades slowly to a thin cover and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are big notes of grapefruit, spice and pine, along with pale malts and bread. The flavour is intensely bitter throughout with lots of piney and citrusy hops. A hint of caramel comes through but is overwhelmed by hops. The finish is long and hoppy bitter with some dry malts. On the palate, it is light-medium in body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent IPA but nothing special. The hops are nice but simple and the malts are somewhat neglected. 2011-10-25

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2012 From bottle. This is a great beer for an IPA fan. Pours light amber and immediate aroma and strong taste of hops like an IPA should. Iím excited that Ontario has produced such a great beer. If youíre a fan of the style and itís available, try it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to Boutip. Clear gold pour with white head, pretty. Aroma is quite citrusy, lots of potent hop aromas, well mingled together in a tight mat of citrusy-herbal aromas. Taste is quite well balanced, bitter but not overdone, less hops than in the aroma (a good thing!) and a good crisp malty body. Medium carbonation and medium body from this one, a very good IPA.

Fresh bottle from the LCBO. "hazy copper with 1 1/2 fingers of eggshell head and an unusual amount of lacing. Blast of Citrus hops in the nose - Grapefruit and pine all the way. Taste has more going on - Grapefruit, pine needles, orange peel, mango rinds - all about the hops but there is a nice malt backbone here. Easy to drink the entire six pack. Medium mouthfeel with decent carbonation and some creaminess - Surprising that Muskoka would be the ones to make Ontarioís most sessionable IPA. Consistent from batch to batch and my local go-to option.
