3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Guelph LCBO. Thanks Peter. Aroma: caramel, orange zest, citrus, tad of pines. App: hazy copper with small white head and some lacing. Taste and palate: light medium body, light sweetness, light to medium long bitter finish. Average carbonation. Overall: a good IPA, enjoyed the orange attack in mouth. Didn’t like that much that it was that much malty. Is this an extraordinary IPA? unfortunately no. There are way better IPA’s in Quebec but I still enjoyed it.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours slightly hazy pale amber with one finger of rocky white head, excellent retention and lacing. (5/5) Nose is tropical fruit, pithy citrus, pine resin, caramel malt. (8/10) Taste is mild sweet, strong bitter. (8/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, lingering slightly sticky bitter finish. (4/5)
Solid IPA - lots of hop bitter, citrus, and tropical fruit (mango and pineapple), balanced and supported with just enough malt. Can’t say I’m noticing any difference with its “Now Unfiltered” designation, other than the colour now being slightly hazy - I’d be lying if I said I could smell or taste the difference. Then again, it has been almost exactly a year since I had a filtered one, so… And yes, I once rated this a 9/10 - consider this updated rating more accurate. I was young(er) and foolish then - now I’m old(er) and, well, still foolish. (16/20)

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I rated this exactly the same as the imperial version because....I said so. It looks and smells almost exactly the same, though obviously the imperial version has more of a boozy kick. I feel bad hating on this stuff, but I’m really just not a fan.

Hazy amber color. Tropical aroma bursts into the nose. Pineapple. Really smooth. Apple. Medium carbonation. Bread? A little bitter.
Not too bitter, and has distinctive characteristic of IPA. Good IPA.
Careful, 6.4% ABV.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Review based on BJCP2008 guidelines (style 14B). Bottle 35 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: malty sweet and caramely aroma. some very faint floral hop aromas. APPEARANCE: orangish/amber color and very hazy. thin head of a slight ivory color with average retention. TASTE: faint floral and grassy hop notes with a somewhat malty sweet background. medium bitterness that lingers beyond a semi-dry finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: an IPA that lacks the aromas and flavours of a dry hopped brew (maybe old bottle?).

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy yellowy orange colour with a finger or so of white head with little retention. The head fades leaving quite a bit of fine lacing.
Aroma: Pine, grapefruit, mandarin oranges, caramel, yeast, light malt.
Flavours: Pine, grapefruit, hops, cereal, hints of yeast.
Mouthfeel: Full and a bit sticky with moderate carbonation.
Overall: I love this IPA and have drank it many times but never rated it before for some reason. This to me is one of the best IPAs going. The aromas are strong with pine and citrus right off the bat. The flavour comes through full bore with pine and grapefruit. Awesome!
