Eructoblaster (1396), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 3, 2009 Can - 473ml. Dark brown body with good carbonation and a thin beige bubbly head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar hints. Its dry malty taste lacks complexity and carries some metallic notes. Ends with a short bittersweet finish. Boring. DerWeg (621), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 10, 2009 CAN. Semi-clear deep mahogany-brown with nice natural dark tan head. Delightful vanilla-toffee flavor with a medium-light easy drinking feel. Lightly honey-sweet with bare hints of coffee and chocolate, hops are just a structural presence.
Aroma is yeast, hint of espresso, Fucking good!! These people make real beer, and it’s local, and I don’t need drive to Buffalo to get it... garthicus (1040), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 23, 2009 Can. Dark chestnut brown with a small off white head. Aroma: Somewhat nutty and malty, some corn and yeast. Flavour: Nutty again, some decent malt, hops and yeast. It has a rather weak body, lots of carbonation, chocolate and a malty finish. Not bad. RaphaelN (182), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada May 6, 2009 On tap at Volo. In contrary to the rating here, I have to give this beer some credit. This is the only dark beer I have come across that drinks down smooth. For those of you who hate lagers, but like smooth beers that are easy to down, this one is it. Perhaps a bit dangerous at that. Tastes like a mild oatmeal stout, medium bodied, with almost no aftertaste. A must try! mabel (2208), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 19, 2009 [1996-20090214] Tap. Some roasty grains aroma. Dark brown body with a small long-lasting creamy light tan head. Roasted chocolate malt flavour has a sweet finish. Medium-full body. Enjoyable, quite drinkable.

Appearance: Brown toned brew with large, frisky fine beaded head. Nose: Medium rich with sweet brown malts , hint of caramel with roasted barley on side. 7- Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied brew. Smoky roasty mid front with chewable meaty palate. Substantial with enough soft sweets and mid end. Neat to see smoky feel . Solid, refreshing light silky bodied smoked dark ale. Thicker version of this ale would be a blast.
tomthompson89 (1339), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 18, 2009 bottle from the brewery. nice dark brown pour, some head but goes away quickly, nose isroasted malt and some sweetness. flavor has almost a scotch ale character , slightly sweet some smoke uhhm decent but feels thin, and an off aftertaste. matt7215 (827), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Feb 27, 2009 341 ml bottle froma trade with jessem. pours very dark brown with a mid tn head. very nice roast malt aroma with some vanilla, quite inviting. the flavour isnt quite as good. its a little bland, some roast malt, a touch of smoke, but overly thin. the palate is to thin and without the body you are let down after the delightful nose. its a passable brown ale but one that ill pass on in the future.
