3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Bierkompass.de, March 2014.
Slightly hazy orange wiith a white head. Aroma and taste of hops, orange, grass and some mango. The finish was bitter. Not bad but it felt a bit "tired".

Wow... intense hops to the nose, a power-packed grapefruit, citrus kick to the tongue! How bad boy is this beer? It’ll pull down your pants, steal your lunch money and hit you in the face with a dodgeball. And that’s after it makes out with your Mom and posts it on YouTube. Twice as Bad and Mad than we’ll ever be. One of the finest IPAs in Canada

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle LCBO: opaque orange brown beer with beige head. Somewhat subdued Notes of hops, citrus fruit and alcohol. Taste has much more punch. Herbal, bready flavours with tropical fruit and hops. Intense, but enjoyable bitterness. Truly a well made dipa.

Ambré foncer avec une grande mousse beige stable. L’arôme de houblon agrumé. Le goût est sucré, des agrumes, avec une bonne amertume en finale.

Brilliant "embellishment" of the Legend of Mad Tom and a great beer from one of Canada’s best Craft Breweries. Glad I smuggled it home. A real West Coast body and mouth feel...only downside is the aroma....it is very hidden/subdued...unlike Mad Tom.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
misty tan body with a light white head. A very slight nose with hints of malt. This is another example of the imperial version loosing some of the snap of the original in the transition to higher alcohol levels. It’s not a bad beer. It just doesn’t accomplish much for the 8.4% ABV. The little hint of lemon is a nice feature and the body is rich and substantial.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
It pours amber with reddish highlights, bubbly too; the head is off-white and soapy. The aroma has notes of: toffee, pineapple, tropical fruit, and alcohol. The taste is medium bitter that finishes medium astringent; there are notes of: biscuit, toffee, pine, and tropical fruits. The palate is medium bodied, high carbonation (medium bubbles), thick mouth-feel, and a medium finish. Overall, much more complex than the regular Mad Tom - it’s nice.
