COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While the legend of Mad Tom is laden with mystery and intrigue, one thing remains clear: Mad Tom did things his own way. Twice as Mad Tom is an aggressively twice-dry-hopped Imperial India Pale Ale, that delivers a definitive hop aroma & unabashedly big bold flavour. We brew this beer with the road less traveled in mind, and in the spirit of old Mad Tom...we make no bones about it.

It pours amber with reddish highlights, bubbly too; the head is off-white and soapy. The aroma has notes of: toffee, pineapple, tropical fruit, and alcohol. The taste is medium bitter that finishes medium astringent; there are notes of: biscuit, toffee, pine, and tropical fruits. The palate is medium bodied, high carbonation (medium bubbles), thick mouth-feel, and a medium finish. Overall, much more complex than the regular Mad Tom - it’s nice.

12oz bottle for dinner, served in the Dogfish Head IPA glass. Very hoppy, really a great double IPA

355 ml bottle. Pours a lightly hazy orangeish pale amber with a resilient white head. Aroma is very hoppy, mostly citrus. Flavor is loads of sweet grapefruit, oranges, lime, pine tree, sweet lemon. Finish has a strong hoppy kick of lemon, pine and herbs. Lingering tropical fruit notes. Medium body, velvety and resinous mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very enjoyable.

Pours a very nice copper amber with little to no turbidity. There is a thin creamy off white head which dissipates quickly. Aromas are dominated by citrus and pine and hint at malts. Tastes full with a nice feel of the right balance of carbonation. Though it’s double dry hopped, this beer isn’t a super hoppy rendition as you would expect, rather it tastes like it smells with a caramel slightly sweet finish that quickly transitions to bitter which lasts on the tongue.

mutronics (21) - st-lazare, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 28, 2013
Pours orange, thin head, strong malty aromas, lot more malty than hoppy. Taste lot of crystal malt, too much for my taste. Strong bitterness that stays, probably around 100 ibu. Mouthfeel is silky to oily. To much crystal, not for hop heads, but still a great beer, recomandable.

355 ml bottle. Pours a dark orange with moderate white head. Aromas of toffee, pink grapefruit, and pine. Bitter flavors of pine and resin with hints of orange peel and stoned fruit.

Je doute que ce soit une bouteille fraiche. Herbacé, poivré avec des malts tranchants de caramelisation, finale amère et un brin métallique. J’aime le fond, buvabilité laborieuse.

bottle. Amber-copper colour, pillowy head. Aroma is fresh hops, pine, malts. Something a little off about the after taste, but otherwise smooth. Syrupy. Good beer.
