While the legend of Mad Tom is laden with mystery and intrigue, one thing remains clear: Mad Tom did things his own way. Twice as Mad Tom is an aggressively twice-dry-hopped Imperial India Pale Ale, that delivers a definitive hop aroma & unabashedly big bold flavour. We brew this beer with the road less traveled in mind, and in the spirit of old Mad Tom...we make no bones about it.

A very enjoyable double ipa. There is a nice bitter hop punch from start to finish that dominates this brew. Masks the high abv well all though some alcohol taste is noticeable but pleasant. Definatly will enjoy again.

Drank from bottle. Couldn't get much on the aroma unfortunately. Taste is hoppy, strong, slightly malty. Good. Still prefer the Mad Tom over the Twice As. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

tom from my bro tom. Cheers! Chill hazed yellow with a small white head. Grapefruit and caramel with some pine and a bit of dough. Mildly bitter, some sweetness. Not bad.

From bottle. Drinking from IPA glass. Initial aroma is what you expect from an Imperial IPA, but it quickly faded. Taste was high on the malt side with a soapy finish. I suspect this might be an off batch as Iíve heard nothing but good things about this beer.

Clear orange pour, thin white head. Typical big hoppy aromas. Citrus, grapefruit, biscuit, a little acidic. Smoother than its aroma. Alcohol well hidden. Fruity and bready, not overly bitter until the finish. Little bit of a candied note on the aftertaste that I wasnít fond if, but overall well balanced and dangerously drinkable.

Bottle. Light amber, slightly hazy, average white head. Oily hoppy body, coniferous, sticky, with sweet cereal malts in support. Long bitter finish. Very good, but not as bright as the regular Tom in my opinion.

Draught. Decent amber pour with mild head. Sharp grassy hop aroma, some citrus. Grainy mouthfeel, mild plum/grape alcohol, but itís largely dashed away by the strong hops. Bitter finish, but not overpowering. Only a step below the original Mad Tom as itís a bit less balanced, but excellent stuff regardless.

Bottle form the Beer Store. Pours a clear orange with a small lively off white head. Smells of grass and oranges. Nice and bitter from start to long finish. Medium slick body with nice level or carbonation. Very different profile than the regular Mad Tom and not quite as balanced but good nonetheless.

. A bottle given to me by my brother because he didnít want it after he saw Muskoka employees pissing in the fermenters, but thatís not true, my brother is a pathological liar, even worse, all this story is not true, my brother never told me that, we are all pathological liars in my family.

Appearance is a nice orange-amber, mild head, mild lacing. Aroma is full of tropical fruit, something like papaya. The malt is also evident, great smelling beer. Taste is more subtle than expected, but very good. Not a smackdown bitter, good balance. Palate is full, disguising the big ABV very well. Overall, very tasty, drinkably dangerous beer.
