COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While the legend of Mad Tom is laden with mystery and intrigue, one thing remains clear: Mad Tom did things his own way. Twice as Mad Tom is an aggressively twice-dry-hopped Imperial India Pale Ale, that delivers a definitive hop aroma & unabashedly big bold flavour. We brew this beer with the road less traveled in mind, and in the spirit of old Mad Tom...we make no bones about it.

355ml bottle. Hazy orange/amber pour, moderate to large tan head. Floral and sweet grapefruit hops with a good caramel malt backbone. taste carries over from the smell rather well and is well balanced between sweet and bitter. Body is medium to full. Overall, more balanced than the single Mad Tom. The hops were aggressive enough to keep up with the sweetness.

355mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks Mike), pours a fairly clear darker golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of residual sugars upfront, sweet caramel malts, oranges, and some citrus hops - uh oh, seems to one of those sugary IIPAs. Flavour confirms this, with an upfront flavour of orange soda, candied sugar, and then the hops show face, but they are restrained. Way too much residual sugar makes this one way out of balance IIPA towards the malt side. Strange - the regular Mad Tom is great, so I thought this would be a sure fire great IIPA, but nope - I much prefer the regular one. Flawed, but still drinkable.

355 ml bottle. Well kids, they don't really come any better than this! And from Ontario to boot!! Pours a yellow, effervescent brew (Lovibond 11) with 1/2" foam head. Really lacey as well. Aromas of the greenest pine needles and of flowers! Maybe even some notes of fresh baked cookies. Taste... Just wow! Bright bitter hops initially then a sweet, malty, slightly heady alcohol flavour balanced by a grassy, piney flair as it finishes. Long aftertaste is sumptuous, leaving you wanting the next sip. Less bitter (hoppy) than the original Mad Tom, but much more refined and satisfying. I compare it to the Digfish Head 90min IPA (which is #1 IPA on America right now). It's actually better! Now I must rush back and buy more. MUCH more!

Aroma clean, aromatic , good hop profile with straight in your face character. 7+
Appearance mid amber with long lasting top. Some lace shown. 4-
Flavor and Palate : front hefty , sugary , crystal like malt. Plenty of hops on top. Felt a bit cloying with plenty of sugars still on plate. need to try another sample to see if this was regular thing.

Tiger_08 (137) - Sarnia, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 12, 2013
Feb. 11 2013. 355ml bottle pours dark, clear amber with a thick foamy white head that settles to a merengue cap and leaves nice lacing to finish. Aroma is strong pine hops with a hint of caramel malt. This is a hops bomb! the sweet/sour hops dominates malt and even overpowers the strong warming alcohol taste. Palate is dry, bitter with good carbonation. Not well balanced with malt but hop lovers dream. Such strong hops that one needs to enjoy slowly. Twice the beer that Mad Tom is!

piscator34 (1968) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - FEB 9, 2013
Bottled sample. Pale copper in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of orange Koolaid, pine sap, herbs, and butter caramel. Flavors are a blend of orange bitters, lemon peel, pone cone and sap along with chewy pale malts. Medium bodied on the palate, and not very bitter. Plays things way too safe overall.

Fantastic IPA. Balanced and strong. Solid ibu's that don't over power the malt. Alcohol is round out by the citrus. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

Pours a light amber with white head and lacing. Dank, hoppy, resinous aromas. Sweet caramel malt flavours at first, with a moderate hoppy finish. Nice carbonated mouthfeel. Solid.

A great double IPA. Pours a copper colour that gets darker toward the head, nice foamy white head, and lacing. Floral citrus honey aroma. Taste is sweet honey, bread, bitter hops, quite resinous. Excellent stuff!

355ml bottle, 8.4% a/v Pours a light copper with a generous tan head. Aroma is largely citrus and grassy hops with a bit of caramel malt. Taste is much the same, very strongly hopped with the majority being citrus and grassy types. Not a perfectly balanced beer but I prefer hoppy beverages so it works for me. Definitely cannot taste the 8.4% though it does warm the stomach! Great job Muskoka!
