A golden amber I2PA with a thin lacing creamy off white head. In aroma, pungent catty and floral hops, meaty notes, biscuit malt. In mouth, a nice smooth biscuit malt with nice citrusy hops, resinous and piney, oily mouthfeel, light alcohol warmth. On tap at Arrow and Loon, Nov. 14 2012.

Pale golden pour with a thick white head. The nose is bright and hoppy. Clean grapefruit and pine along with a touch of light spiciness. Some lean and light maltiness with a little touch of soft tropical hop flavour in the back as well. Well-integrated with a bright and citrusy hoppiness up front that is backed by some very light malt character. The hop profile is similar to the regular Mad Tom but there is a more tropical flavour in the mid-palate. It’s a damn solid DIPA.

Bottle just arrived at the LCBO. A good drinking DIPA. Orange and tangerine, a complex and interesting melange. Smooth for a DIPA, not a palate eraser. Something I would certainly drink again, and again.Hazy orange.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2012 2012-12-04. Quick notes. More bitter and stronger tropical fruit character, with more of an oily/citrus peel quality to it than in the bottle. On tap at C’est What, Toronto
2012-11-23. Crisp orange body, small beige head. 3+ Aroma is quite hoppy, grassy notes, fruity tropical fruit notes, citrus that is not quite grapefruit, tangerine. 7++ Flavour is similarly quite hoppy, lots of fruity hops, tropical fruit, mango, modest bitterness throughout. Alcohol is nearly invisible, lingering tropical fruit, modest bitterness.. 7+ Smooth average plus bodied palate is a touch lighter than expected, but adds to the drinkability. Pretty nice stuff. Aroma clean, aromatic , good hop profile with straight in your face character. 7+
Appearance mid amber with long lasting top. Some lace shown. 4-
Flavor and Palate : front hefty , sugary , crystal like malt. Plenty of hops on top. Felt a bit cloying with plenty of sugars still on plate. need to try another sample to see if this was regular thing.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Glouglouburp (5607) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 23, 2013
In short: A sugary boozy bitter golden IPA. High aggression, low drinkability. Meh.
How: Bottle 341ml, consumed fresh a few weeks after purchase.
The look: Shining clear golden body topped by a medium off-white head with good retention.
In long: The predominantly hoppy nose is grassy+citrusy and also a bit sweet. Not fresh aromatic citrus fruits here, more like dried fruits and candied fruits. In mouth the beer is very clean, polished toasted sugary malts, a bit too much residual sugars for my liking, alcohol is very much apparent (feels more than 8.4%), resinous hops that are part-grassy part-citrusy part-conifero. Brutal bitterness augmented by the alcohol bite. Seems like crystal malts were abused in this one. Feels like intensity was the goal in the creation of this beer, how to make a simple IPA as aggressive as possible while keeping the abv relatively low. Drinkability is unacceptably low for a beer of this style and gravity. I can’t give it a very low score because it is so clean and professional but this is pretty much the exact opposite of what I’m looking for in an IPA nowadays. A bottle given to me by my brother because he didn’t want it after he saw Muskoka employees pissing in the fermenters, but that’s not true, my brother is a pathological liar, even worse, all this story is not true, my brother never told me that, we are all pathological liars in my family.

Bottle [355ml]. Pours a nice-looking deep amber-gold with an average size long-lasting frothy off-white head. Some lacing on the glass. Aroma, also nice, of fruity hops, slightly resiny and a touch sweet, along with citrus and some biscuity malt in the back -- not as hoppy as I expected but quite pleasant. Flavour of fruity, citrusy hops along with slightly sweet biscuity malt, tropical fruit and a short but somewhat big bitter finish. The alcohol is dangerously well hidden. Medium bodied. Well done Muskoka, I’ll be buying as many of these as I can.

12 ounce bottle thanks to pushkinwow . Pours a clear amber color with a medium sticky white head. A great nose of resin and citrus. Very sweet, massive resin, light pine, candied oranges, linger bitterness, finishes with more resin and orange. Awesome. A bit harsh at times, but excellent brew. I think I’m the first non-Canadian rating of this! Great beer.

Bottle. Dark amber with nice head and hop nose. Doesn’t scare you away with scent or flavour. Solid malt, alcohol and strong hops. Buy a four pack and take your time.
