While the legend of Mad Tom is laden with mystery and intrigue, one thing remains clear: Mad Tom did things his own way. Twice as Mad Tom is an aggressively twice-dry-hopped Imperial India Pale Ale, that delivers a definitive hop aroma & unabashedly big bold flavour. We brew this beer with the road less traveled in mind, and in the spirit of old Mad Tom...we make no bones about it.

355ml bottle from the LCBO. Clear amber with a nice creamy biege Nice malty and resiny aroma with grapefruit, some mango and a nice lemon zest with a hint of pepper. Moderate carbonation a nice body; slight sweetness that quickly moves to a full and balanced bitterness, no hint of alcohol, finish is nice and resiny with some malt, not overwhelming, bit dry and quite delicious. Hope this is a year round offering.

Cuivrée et très trouble, quelques notes d’agrumes au nez, une grande amertume sur un sucre satisfaisant. On sent peu le 8,4% d’alcool. Au-delà de mes attentes.

Acquired from trade with Chopz. :) Pours a dark golden amber colour, with a nice finger thick creamy head. Good lacing and retention. Huge hoppy citrus aromas right in your face. Nice floral hop notes. Has a very hoppy flavour, pretty strong, with some malts but much less distinct. Hops are what it’s about. Very tasty and mostly just a tad hoppier than the Mad Tom. A bit bitter on the palate, but not in a bad way. Quite refreshing and the alcohol is well hidden. Thank you Muskoka! love it.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks troubles. Clear golden. Aroma of graininess, malt, and stale hops. Sweetish flavor with malt, graininess, bitter stale hops. Medium-bodied. BBD is 7/16, but already it seems way too old.

355ml. bottle from the L.C.B.O. in Ottawa. The color is a clear amberwith a thin beige head. The aroma is of hops and more hops, peaches, herbs and some citrus fruits. The taste as above plus added malt to give it a good finish.A good double I.P.A.

A ton of pine and some orangey citrus on the nose. All resiny bitter hops on the palate. One of my all-time favourite IIPAs

Tangerine yellow-orange color. Lace sticks to the glass. Aroma is dank, oily hops, with a spicy malt (like a rye). There is a second wave of citrus that sneaks into the back of the nostril cave. The flavor is like pure resin: hop alpha oils are practically floating on top like an oil spill. It has a sticky, woody hop that is just supreme. A hint of something akin to apple skins? The feel is extremely sticky and oily. It’s magnificent.

Canada, eh? I knew hockey was awesome but who knew Canadian beer was awesome? This beer here is a nice dipa. Great hop aroma to go with a great hop taste. Palate is medium bodied making a easy drinker. Overall, I’m glad I got to try this. I would like to try Mad Tom. I bet it is solid as well.

Very nice imperial IPA. Poured a thick head and left nice lacing around the glass. Aroma was tropical hops and finish was a little dry but nice. At 8.4% you couldn't really taste the alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Loved the original Mad Tom, can;t say this is twice as good but definitely a strong brew. Light amber pour, medium frothy off-white head, good lacing. Nice sweet aroma, lots of pine. Tate is big and bitter pine backed up by a decent amount of sweet caramel malt.
