COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Winter Weiss (Vice) was developed over a warm cabin fire, filling the void for a flavorful yet sessionable brew to enjoy during a long Winters night. This Dunkelweizen is deep brown with notes of clove and banana. Muskoka Winter Weiss partners the yeast and wheat character of a Hefeweizen with the malty richness of a Munich Dunkel. The result, a brew to enjoy all Winter long. Seasonally brewed and available in limited quantity, the perfect beer for Winter celebrations with friends. [Draught at Bar Hop] Pours a deep dark amber-brown with a small long lasting creamy tan head. Some lacing. Mild aroma of banana, malt, esthery notes, more fruit and some tangy or metallic notes. Flavour of lightly toasted malt, esthery notes, a bit of banana and gum and caramel malt. Average bodied. Personal preference but this just doesn’t do it for me.

On tap @ Stoneface Dolly’s Ottawa. Pours a nearly opaque brown with a small creamy off-white head. Aromas are of rich sweet malts and banana/fruit. Tastes are banana/clove typical of a wheat beer but offset by some woody, sweet malts. Smooth, medium bodied with a rich short finish. Interesting spin on a wheat beer.

Pour at Trading Bay in Dorset is chestnut brown with a thin frosted cap. Flavour is spices, bay rum & cloves. Tight carbonation & thin body. Goes well with pulled pork soup. Kinda like their summer Weiss wrapped in a maltier blanket.

ap at beer brothers, ottawa. hazy light brown, orange hue, with a small creamy light beige head, good retention and lacing. german yeast-plenty, bananas, spices, pepper, hint of lemon, crisp toasted and spicy malts - toasted wheat with its acidity, touch of caramel, fruitiness - cherries, fresh grass ans lightly bitter herbs. lively yet soft carbonation, light body, dry grass-herbal finish. impressed. solid dunkel.

On draught at Corks. Clear amber, solid beige creamy head. Aroma is light - mild spice and toasty caramel malt, hint of banana, lightly grassy - taste follows, very balanced and light, not much alcohol presence - like a blend of a Dubbel, a hefeweizen and a bitter. Light body, moderate carbonation and quick-finishing - not too sweet, incredibly sessionable - a great lighter option for a seasonal ale.

On tap at Brothers Beer Bistro (Ottawa, ON). Dark brown body with a thin off-white foamy head. Well belanced malty/hoppy aroma with yeasty, banana, and spicy hints. Taste carries woody and nutty notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Not bad.

Tap at The Ship. Deep brown amber pour with a thick tan head. The aroma is softly sweet. Notes of berry, banana and some soft fruitiness. Clove is quite subtle but it’s there. There’s also a touch of soft wheaty character. Pleasant enough brew - but could definitely be more assertive on the flavour profile.

Pours dark amber with good lacing and ok head. Light on palate, with some light malt and nutmeg or some sort of spice-like taste. Watery consistency. Light yeast flavour. Tap at Wellington Gastropub.
