At a tasting, thanks, small bubbly head, very cloudy to murky brown, foul aroma of stale vanila bean with a hint of barnyard and something medicinal, flavor of stale grains and dusty bitterness, some sourness that is out if place. probably old and not enjoyable.

@ Express de Lyon, Paris. Dark brown color, almost black with a beige head with good lacework. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, licorice and coffee beans with light ashes. Flavor is bittery with light vanilla hints, coffee also present. Mild creamy on palate with roasty hints.

On tap, 25cL. @La Fine Mousse, Paris. A pitch black beer with a good beige foamy head ; medium retention ; good lacing. Aroma of coffee (intense), roast, toast, herbal note. Medium lasting sweet, herbal bitter note. Light body, thin smooth texture, average to soft carbonation, sweet finish, herbal acid note. Overall, a pleasant smooth beer with strong coffee aroma. I would have loved if this beer was a bit warmer and thicker. Taste is deceiving : ok it’s pleasant but we are far from a "gourmandise".

Dark bodied, bubbly frothy light tan head. Aroma is not concentrated but still aromatic and rich, with rye bread, light but apparent coffee, cheesy yeast, some barn even and some leather. Pleasant mouth feel, nice roasted taste, a bit smoked, a bit of leather. Modern hop profile to support. Almost too easy to drink for its own good, I finished it before making my notes! (33cl bottle from La Cave à Bulles)
