Dark bodied, bubbly frothy light tan head. Aroma is not concentrated but still aromatic and rich, with rye bread, light but apparent coffee, cheesy yeast, some barn even and some leather. Pleasant mouth feel, nice roasted taste, a bit smoked, a bit of leather. Modern hop profile to support. Almost too easy to drink for its own good, I finished it before making my notes! (33cl bottle from La Cave à Bulles)

Bottle at Le Supercoin. Black with a rich offwhite head. Complex roasted and smoked malts. A bit salty in the mouth together with hints of licorice. Interesting.

Bière noire avec un haut et magnifique col crémeux brun Odeur de cacao, de malts grillés et de café. Texture crémeuse, bonne pétillance, petite amertume, le chocolat domine, petite arrière goût de vanille. Très bon.

bottled, big thanks to the ever-generous baerwaldt for bringing this back from france. very close to black with a modest head; aromas of bitter chocolate and a hint of vanilla; plenty of dark malt flavours - coffee, chocolate and prune; nicely balanced, medium bitterness

Alphadelic (1751) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 20, 2013
An excellent porter texture and robust malt character lead into a mix of chocolate and roasty bitterness in the finish. The vanilla is very restrained. I could drink this in a heartbeat.

Brought back from France by me girlfriend: Pours something close to black with a light brown head. Aroma is burnt chocolate, roasted malts, and toast. Taste is more complex than expected. Somewhat bitter, with barely any sweetness. Nice sustained aftertaste with some astringency. Body is nice and creamy; correct consistency. Very drinkable.

Bottle 33cl shared @ brewery. A dark beer with medium white head. Nose is intense on roasted barley and coffee. Aroma is again on roasted barley with a grassy hops and bitterness, body is again on coffee and roasted barley, texture is oily. Finish is dry with high bitterness and light notes of vanilla.

Bottle from La Cave à Bulles, Paris, lot 2012-10A, bb 31.12.2013
Black color; medium sized brownish head, creamy. Nice aroma of roasted and biscuity malts, deep and elegant. Smooth mouthfeel, dry chocolate flavor, tobacco, a hint of vanilla, traces of coffee and rhubarb extract; very light liquorice in the final; correct bitterness, with some late astringency. Good.
