Can enjoyed at a Burmese restaurant in Phnom Penh. Typical Asian golden lager, with straw, skunk, and overall lacking in substantial flavor. This however did have a nice honey aftertaste which I enjoyed.

640 ml bottle from Uwajimaya. Hate to support the regime, but a tick is a tick! Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head. A light fruity nose. This is a clean, basic lager: honey, a bit of dirty malt but overall pretty clean, apples, some overripe berries. OK beer. Good on 40c days in Rangoon I expect.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2015 I brought a bottle back from Myanmar to the US. It was still carbonated and retained its flavor.

Much as you’d expect. Tiny tight bubbles, light cereal flavor, minimal bitterness. It’s got quite the sweetness to it but it is balanced I guess, though it never really lilts heavily in either direction.

22 oz. bottle from an Asian market in San Pablo. It pours a nice clear light gold color with a small white head. The aroma is a mix of wallpaper paste, corn and rice. The flavor is a bit nicer with non-offensive pale malt, rice, light apple acidity and hints of hop bitterness in the finish, but very low levels. It has a surprisingly full body, but still seems watery and dry. Overall, a pretty boring beer, but a nice thirst quencher for the Thai style papaya salad I made for myself.

33cl draught in Yangon, Myanmar. Golden colour with a thick head which reduces quickly. Good lacing. Medium carbonation. Light, little sweetness. Some citrus and gentle malt taste. OK for a commercial lager. Best consumed cold.
