From 33cl can, pours clear blonde with white head. Light aroma of malts. Flavors of malts, hints of grass and gum. Quite water down. Somewhat crisp and refreshing. light sweet finish.

22 oz. bottle from an Asian market in San Pablo. It pours a nice clear light gold color with a small white head. The aroma is a mix of wallpaper paste, corn and rice. The flavor is a bit nicer with non-offensive pale malt, rice, light apple acidity and hints of hop bitterness in the finish, but very low levels. It has a surprisingly full body, but still seems watery and dry. Overall, a pretty boring beer, but a nice thirst quencher for the Thai style papaya salad I made for myself.

Can by Cuso. Aroma sweetish, honeyish malt. Clear yellow colour. Taste is sweetish honeyish, equal rather harsh bitterness, light astringent. Not too good.

33cl draught in Yangon, Myanmar. Golden colour with a thick head which reduces quickly. Good lacing. Medium carbonation. Light, little sweetness. Some citrus and gentle malt taste. OK for a commercial lager. Best consumed cold.

By far the most widely available beer in Myanmar. Available in 330ml can, bottle, 640ml bottle and on draft which is better than the rest. Pours a darkish yellow compared to other light lagers. I have found this pretty drinkable and inoffensive. You’re not going to get anything special with a pale lager from Myanmar but this is perfectly drinkable.

I’m sure that a cold one will sooth the traveller under the burmese sun. But there’s nothing exciting about this beer in any other context.

The reviews on this were brutally harsh. 11 guys in Sweden sharing a bottle that is God-knows how old? Really? That said, this is not a great beer. I had a couple of pints draft at Union in Yangon. It was fresh and hoppy, with surprisingly good, even great lacing. Yeah, it’s thin in the mouth. Yeah, it lacks a decisive malt backbone. But it was much better than what i had been drinking in Bangkok, and much better than I expected.

Bottle. You know this beer is bad as soon you open it. Wet cornflakes and mouldering carpet smell. As I work my way through the other local stuff I will know where this stands in the continuum.
