COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Very sweet and classic stout. Taste with dominant toffie and caramel sweetnees, hints of liquorice. Appears brown with fast disapearing head. Overall a little too weak of a stout for my taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium beige head. Clear deep dark brown body. Earthy roasty outdoor toilet (yes, really, though not the worst aspects, just the earthy musky bit) aroma with mealy notes. Dry-sweet roasty earthy mineraly taste with caramelly licorice notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish earthy roasty mineraly aftertaste with sooty caramel notes. Nice, drinkable, has admirable aspects, but ultimately fails to please. (0.5l bottle, from Fish & Beer, Copenhagen.)

Bottle. Pours nice with an airy, light brown head. The nose is indistinguishable, but reminds me a little of cat piss. A little toasted malt after that. It's a thin and slightly bitter stout. I wish I'd never tasted it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Theydon_Bois (8743) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - JUN 8, 2014
Bottle at home, 08/06/14, from an IP trade with JanFan. Black with a well appointed light tan covering that soon dissipates to a swirl and heavy edgeing. Nose is big roast, grain , oaty biscuit, light cocoa, hont of vanilla, toffee. Taste comprises roast malt, earthy cocoa, dark toffee, trace of liqourice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, bitter sweet notes in the cose. Decent enough simple stout.

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy but stable beige head. Clear aroma of malt and butter, with notes of milk coffee and yeast. Roasty and sweetish flavour of malt and coffee, with hints of liquorice. Sourish-sweetish aftertaste. Not bad but would be better without tha buttery notes.

Pours black with translucent edges and nice carbonation. Nose of vanilla, dark malt, and treacle as my UK friend said, or molasses. Taste of the same plus a bit of anise. Pleasantly surprising after a few misses from this brewery. Very well balanced and complex for a lighter stout.
