Papsoe’s tasting, courtesy of yespr. Copper pour with not much head to speak of. Aroma is caramel malty with some spices thrown in. Similar taste, though kind of vague. Average mouthfeel with a slightly sweet finish. Kind of a bland beer.

Jul 8, 2008 Bottle. Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is ginger, malt, caramel. Flavour is sour, caramel, ginger, malt, sweet, fruit. Nice aroma, but disappointing flavour.

Jun 29, 2008 0,5 l bottle - tasting with yngwie, gunnfryd and Beer_2000. Hazy brown color, disappering white head. Aroma is very sweet malty, dried fruit, spices. Flavor is sweet, malty, fruit, spices. Too sweet?

Jun 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours what seems a clear amber body with a rapidly diminishing beige head. Gushed out of the bottle, and hopefully gunnfryd’s keyboard will survive. Slightly sourish aroma, but it’s dominated by sugary sweetness. Caramel and dried fruits as well. A touch of spices? Strange, sourish, dried fruit flavor. Sugary as well, indeed, and there’s also something reminiscent of ginger. Full-bodied and slightly sticky. Sweet, a bit alcoholic finish. Not my idea of a doppelbock, that’s for sure. (080626)

Apr 15, 2008 Dark brown and hazy with a small and quickly disappearing head. the aroma has sweetness and notes of roasted malt, caramel and the flavour has sweetness and notes of roasted alt, caramel and a touch of nuts. I cannot find the sweet gail and the tannic acid, that often is accompanying it. It’s a smooth and pleasant beer, the mouthfeel is however a bit too carbonated.
