rpattinson (82), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jun 1, 2006 Pale yellow, not much head. Vaguely pissy taste with maybe a hint of hops. Quite sweet taste with a caramel aroma. Bitterish finish with a slightly peppery aroma.
Not very good, but is it any worse than industrila pale lager brewed in Europe? Not really. At least int doesn’t have the horrible stale hop taste of most Dutch pils.I would mark Dommelsch even lower.
Ungstrup (11713), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 22, 2008 Bottled. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of citrus. The flavor is sweet malty combined with skunky notes of brewing cereal and caramel, leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish. Thanks Madsberg for bringing this to Denmark. ThomasE (5075), Copenhagen, Denmark May 15, 2008 Clear yellow colour with a white head. Malty, light corn and alcohol sweet aroma with a light hay note. Malty, vague alcohol sweet flavor. Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 4, 2008 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of madsberg. Golden beer with floating impurities and a small, white head that leaves some lacework. Sweet aroma of alcohol and brewing cereal. Medium body, light, fruity notes, very sweet brewing cereals and then a fairly punchy alcohol in the finish. But surprisingly quaffable. My favorite Indian beer so far. 191207 Emil (6077), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 29, 2007 Bottle thanks to Madsberg. A pale golden beer with a white head.
