The Caribbean has a long tradition of sweet, fruity stouts that are delicious and refreshing in hot weather. While continuing that tradition, we’ve upped the ante on refreshing by adding lemongrass and fresh lemon zest.

For those with very discernable palettes, many different undertones can be conceived, from citrus and blackberries to bold malty goodness.

Can into glass in NC. Black w thin head. Lemongrass comes through in the aroma along w some woody notes. Similar taste and dry. Odd combination of lemongrass and stout and not sure if it works. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A dark brown stout with a thick brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with peated notes, light pepper corn, light lemony notes, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with peated notes, light chili, coffee grind, alcohol warmth, very nice and complex. Bottle at OttBottShare April 2016.

16 oz can poured a clear dark reddish brpwn with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, earthiness, coffee, light cocoa and a hint of lemongrass. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, cocoa, light earthiness and a hint of lemongrass with a smooth dry lingering cocoa finish.

650 ml. bottle is sizzling with carbonation when cracked open. Pours opaque ebony with a humongous ice cream float-like head that finally settles to a small disc. Nose is mocha espresso with lemon and a hint of booze. Tastes of dark chocolate, citrus zest, vanilla and espresso. Medium body is smooth after the CO2 settles out, and has a nice balance. Nice idea, but the citrus notes are a bit much after a short while.

Poured from bomber. Outrageously carbonated and not very tasty. Had to let it sit for a bit to even out. Once I could get it in the glass, I tasted coffee, chicory, and faint lemongrass. Not as interesting as I had hoped. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Salud. Almost a gusher, massive carbonaton. Clear maroon color, huge brown head. Aroma is roasty with light licorice. Taste explodes in your mouth like pop rocks, the carbonation is so high, whivh interferes with the otherwise roasty flavor.

From bomber (thaks(?) Rob). FIZZY!!! REALLY REALLY FIZZY!!! poured dark brown with 14 fingers of tan head. Seriously- a half inch of beer, and 4" of foam. If RateBeer allowed pics, I'd show spewage John Holmes would have been proud of. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty tasty stout. Definitely unique. Some dark roasty taste but a lot more earthy grassy notes. Its just surprising how light and bright and green it tastes when you look at the dark pour. I like it, mostly because it is weird without being awful.
