A lighter, drier, hoppier version of our summer saison Evangeline. Apple, pear, and pineapple flavors from our yeast strain harmonize with the floral character of Aramis hops for a refreshing fall saison as crisp as an autumn evening.

I do taste the apple and pear that they claim in the deScription, which adds a pleasant tartness to the beer. I canít say I love it or that itís a complicated beer, but this one makes for a good session type beer. Not as spicy as a normal saison, but lacks the complexity and the deep belgian yeast flavors. Almost tastes like it had flavors added afterward to a relatively sterile base.

On tap at Blue Dream curry. Decent saison- better than score indicates. Super dry and crisp with a nice clean finish. Saison notes apparent but not overpowering. Love the apple/pear tartness with the spice notes of the yeast. Pretty tasty. Nice with spicy curry.

Poured from bomber an orange and amber hue, forming a light beige craggy head of foam. Aroma of grass, malts, slight floral hints along with some raisin like clues. Flavour much of the same, reminds me more of a dubbel. Ok, but not memorable.

From a 22 oz bottle. Pours a murky brown with an ecru head. Floral nose. Flavors of cardoman and tropical frujits. Smooth, clean finish.

From a bottle. The pour is a cloudy bright orange with no head.I taste a lot of pear and hop bitterness.I actually like this saison than most Saison for the lack of over herbal.

22 oz. bottle from SoHo Organic Market, Elizabeth City, NC (listed on the label as 6.5% ABV). Dark orange pour with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of banana, Belgian yeast, faint barnyard, and just a hint of red apple. Smooth, well-balanced flavors of ripe banana, pear, apple, and faint alcohol. Personally, I have had saisons that I liked better than this one. However, this seems like a good entry-level interpretation as it avoids some of the bitter flavors some people may find offensive.

On tap at Tylerís, Durham. With a bit more weirdness, this could be construed as Mysteryís tweak on a Fantome brew. That is to say, itís a relatively under-carbonated amber brew with a medium yeasty and heavily fruity nose. Flavors are for the most part bready and sweet-ish, emphasizing the fruit once again. This takes it away from the direction I tend to like my saisons heading, but it werenít too bad.

Tap at Tylerís Carrboro. Mostly clear amber with medium carbonation and a thin white lace. Light bready, yeasty nose, caramel, light toffee, earthy hops. Thinner palate, flavors of cereal grains, caramel, light spice (almost like a rye). Nose is much more on point, palate and flavor could be much fuller (and even drier) but its a solid effort and moving in the right direction.

Sample at the brewery. Poured an amber color with a moderate head. A little sour in both the smell and taste. Was a fairly average beer, though Iím not a huge fan of the style.
