COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Barrel Program beers are entirely fermented and aged in wood barrels. For millenia wood was an essential part of the brewing process - long before the advent of stainless steel. This beer was fermented in barrels formerly used for chardonnay wines. As such, it expresses and essence of its former contents along with the classic vanilla of French oak.

Bottle corked and caged through recent trade. Pour has a deep golden color with a fizzle on the surface that produced a covering of white head. Aroma is huge on the chardonnay barrels, white grape skins, complementing yeast, and a golden base beer. Mouth feel is medium and the carbonation is very low. Flavor has a nice golden base beer, chardonnay barrel, sweet but not overly so, yeasty esters, and a tongue watering finish. I wish there was a bit more carbonation in this bottle but the beer itself rocks!

One of the best beers from Mystic that Ive had. Huge oaky and vinous notes. Creamy texture and tons of barrel characteristics on the finish. Lingering light bitterness and medium sweetness drys at the finish.

Pours deep clear gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Chardonnay, vanilla and oak aromas. Crisp with sweet caramel and oak upfront turing to grape in the lasting finish. White wine barrels produce the best of the Mystic offerings...

Poured from bottle: pours straw with a good sized white head. Aroma is funk, spice, and a little alcohol like. Taste is very dry, spicy, oaky, and very clean. Nice smooth mouthfeel, medium body. Quite tasty.
