Not typical quad, but quite interesting above mediocre. Barley wine-ish maltiness, caramel, some toast, intense fruitiness in all forms, dried fruits, nuts. Mostly sweet with light bitterness in finish. Lovely sipper

Hazy amber color with OFF-white head. Aroma of sugar. Taste is very sweet, too sweet for me, but it’s okay. Thick mouthfeel.

Bottle, 11%. Fruity and nicely citric aroma. Cloudy dark brown colour. Small off-white head. The flavour is sweet and fruity. Good sweetness with some brown sugar, vanilla, good booziness. Dried apricot. Quite nice.

Cloudy brown, offwhite froth. Aroma has malt, prunes and plums, slightly vinous. Thick, creamy and fluffy mouthfeel. Lots of dried fruit, malt and warming alcohol. Light hoppy, boozy bitter bite towards the finish.

Bamsen78 (4690) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 22, 2016
Bottle. Pours cloudy darkish copper brown with small light tan head. Clear aroma of fruit, caramel and malt, with touches of yeast and faint notes of hops. Sweet flavour of caramel malt and fruit, with notes of nuts and etsery hints. Sweetish and slightly nutty aftertaste. Decent but rather sweet. Boozy. Well, doom is sweet, I must conclude.

Hanoi (711) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2015
Bottle. Nose is boozy, brandy, malt, plum, hint of blueberry, lots of sticky figs, fruitcake, dab of strawberry; very nice. Taste is malt, brandy, apple, lots of nuts, caramel, fruit cake, plums, hazelnut, brown sugar, touch of banana, lots more plum. Surprisingly slick mouthfeel. This is a very nice beer, it has a lot of characteristics of a traditional barley wine rather than what is now called a quad.

Flanfl (452) - Bordeaux, FRANCE - NOV 22, 2015
Cloudy brown body, small white head. Fairly strong and complex aroma, lots of dried fruits (plum mainly), banana, alcohol, different sweet malts complexities. Flavour has lots of malt complexity, really sweet, dired fruits (still mainly plum), brandy like notes with plum in it. Full body, medium carbo.

Benzai (11862) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - OCT 22, 2015
Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus @ Drebus’ birthday tasting. Opaque murky dark brown color, average sized beige head. Aroma is malts, brown sugar, dark fruits. Taste malts, dark fruits, brown sugar, pretty sweet. If this was brewed in The Netherlands or Belgium I think this would have gone into the Belgian Strong Ale category instead of Quadrupel. Medium body, decent carbonation.

DutchDrebus (5276) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - OCT 22, 2015
Bottle @ benzai. Dark amber to brown colour with a medium sized off-white head. Smells sweet, raisins, not a lot of smell. Tastes very sweet, raisins, wiebertjes, applesyrup, more raisins, brown sugar. Full body, nice carbo. Doesn?t taste like I?m somewhat used to from a barley wine or quadruple.
