Bottle, from Luke’s Liquors. Good aroma, sweet, roasty. Molasses, chocolate, little clove. Dark orange brown color, big head, ok lace. Sweet flavor. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, bittersweet finish. Pretty nice. Flavor best part good mix of the molasses, chocolate and yeast. Aroma just a tad less interseting. Good stuff overall

Sampled at the brewery. Pours dark brown with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, light roasted and chocolate malts, some spice, and a light bitterness. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good beer.

From the corked, caged, 750 ml. bottle. Batch #006. Served about 50 degrees as recommended. Very dark brown pour with a tremendous, fluffy tan head that floats on top like a milk shake for the whole time. The aroma is of coffee, mild chocolate, and dark fruit like cherry or currant. Yeast and bread esters too. The body is medium and a tad astringent. The taste is mildly sweet, dark, and bitter and the end. I liked it a lot.

Draft at Churchkey. Pours a dark brown color with a small creamy beige head. This looks like a dry stout, but that is where the similarities end. The aroma is herbal, fruity, mild chocolate, hints of caramel, molasses,spices and a touch of yeast. The flavor is sweet, caramel, molasses, fruity, herbal, with a touch of chocolate. This is smooth and seems a bit soft on the carbonation. A bit too much going on for me.

Draft. Hazy brown color, medium tan head. Aroma of cocoa, dark fruit. Taste is toffee, caramel, chocolate.

Pours a dark black, with a medium, lacy off-white head. Nose is of enriched bread, lightly roasted malts, and slight earthy spice. Taste starts with caramel and slight toffee notes, before picking up earthy spice, and lightly fruity yeast. Finish is lightly bitter and herbal, and fades somewhat quickly.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2013 Bottle from Boston split w James tonight. Red-brown hazy murky appearance; sweet-sugary malt aroma; Belgiany taste, light-bodied, some brown sugar, notes of breadiness and smooth chocolate, but nothing dominates. Subtly complex.

Bottle courtesy of Brendan, originally brought over March 2012 to celebrate the end of my 3 months of sobriety - cracked exactly 10 months later. Pours a deep wine red/brown body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is belgian candy, esters, dark fruit and light cocoa. Mouthfeel is carbonated with notes of esters, alcohol, light roast, bitterness, belgian candy and spice.
