Bottle from the brewery marked as batch 001 with 7.5%abv Bottle says its a blend of Irish stout and aged stock ale. Huge pop from the cork, hard to pour without getting a glass full of foam. Light chocolate and woody notes with just a hint of sherry, light roast, and tart cherry. Possibly a hint of lactic in there. The flavor is light roast and chocolate with some obvious oxidation going on. Lightly fruity earthy tones and a somewhat ashy mouthfeel. Ok brew.

Large corked bottle. Poured a dark brown, almost black with a slight tan head. Sweet malt with alot of roasted notes. Hints of coffee, chickory and pepper. Medium body, nice and dry. I like this.

Flavour is lovely and chocolaty with a good dose of sweetness up front and a well-balanced but present roast bitterness at the back. It has a nice medium-full mouthfeel and is quite dry in a very interesting and appealing manner. Reasonably lovely carbonation ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

32oz squealer from the brewery taproom enjoyed at home. Pours a deep black colour with a hint of chocolate brown around the edges and a nice brown foam that recedes quickly. Minimal lacing. Aroma is very enticing, with very complicated dark malt aromas of chocolate, toffee, a hint of espresso and bubblegum and a light touch of toast. Flavour is lovely and chocolaty with a good dose of sweetness up front and a well-balanced but present roast bitterness at the back. It has a nice medium-full mouthfeel and is quite dry in a very interesting and appealing manner. Reasonably lovely carbonation too, with a lingering sweet roast coffee aftertaste. Overall, this is an outstanding stout, and I would drink it again and again.
