COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mary of the Gael Saison-Style Farmhouse Ale. Spring Saison. St. Brigid’s Day (AKA Mary of the Gael) is celebrated in Ireland at the time of the Imbolic, a once pagan celebration of "Summer in the belly of winter." This release in our series of seasonal saisons is a refreshingly hoppy take on saison for springtime. Mary of the Gael has a simple base of pilsener malt, a touch of honey malt and is dry-hopped with a copious amount of floral hops.

Bottle from Brew Fest. Clody orangy beige with lasting head and full lace and a couple of floaties. Mildly tart floral citrus aroma. Fruit peachy sweetness grassy with medium assertive spicy and lemony tart bitterness. Fairly dry. Very fruity. Fine carbo. Not really soft. Good. But not their A game.

Hazy yellow color, small white head. Orange peels, apricot in the nose. Medium-bodied. Flavor is simple apricot water, berries with light earthy notes. Some lemon zest, but low bitterness. Not my Saison.

2014 Bottle. Pours with a hazy golden orange hued body with a retentive white head. Aromas are of floral hops, grassy and mildly funky notes, low esters, very green, a touch of suntan lotion. Delicate, floral phenols, low malt. Flavors have a light apricot like fruit ester up front, somewhat doughy malt character, floral and lightly citrus hop character. Yeasty. Mild bitterness, dry finish. Lightly acidic. High carbonation.

Pours brownish orange with a small wispy beige head. The aroma has nectar fruit, peppery spice, earthy husky saison yeastiness, herbs, leaves and light must. It has a medium / light crisp body with a boatload of sharp micro carbonation. The flavor starts with earthy funk, dried fruit, lots of pepper and barnyard. The finish dries out and had dried herbal and leafy characteristics. Good saison.

Nice beer. Aroma is very floral and spicy. Reminds me of holiday spices. Taste is pretty sweet with a bit of a rustic floral finish. Good stuff.

On tap at Pro Pig, half pour. Pours cloudy gold with a rocky white head. Aroma is floral hops, spice and honey. Flavor has a sweetness about it, from the honey malt, no doubt, which blends nicely with the slight farmhouse funk the beer has. A bit grainy. Light bodied and crisp.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2014 On draft at propig, tons of spices and dryness. It’s decent I like it. A little thick. The Mystic saisons all are ust about hte same, malty thick body, light fruit esters, semi dry finish. Some wheat tones, plain.
