12 oz bottle consumed from the bottle at the Greek Festival in Columbus Ohio - Aroma somewhat floral with notes of yeast. Flavor is lemon, grain, yeast, and a touch of corriander. Crisp and clean on the palate. Better than expected for a foreign lager. Not too bad but not something I’d drink if there were other choices.

Pale, sparkling gold, thick fluffy white head, nice lacing. Aromas of herbs, flowers, pepper, bready yeast, and malt. Crisp, tart and citrusy, the flavors were bread, lemon, grapefruit, pepper, and coriander. Mouthfeel was decent -- effervescent and clean. Nice hops in the finish.

Some malt presence but basically just a refreshing Greek lager. As expected nothing special.

Bottle (330ml, green) Poured a clear yellow with a tiny fizzy head. Smelled somewhat skunky from half a metre. Aroma is the usual rainy cornfield with bitter fake-honey sweet notes. Taste is also the usual SIL with pretty much no hops and the malt tastes artificial. Not horrible - mouthfeel is average and a little slippery. Defo good with food while cold and as good as you should expect it to be. Not as nasty to my ’buds as Canadian macro Paleagers.

A very standard lager. Light yellow, small head, very little bitterness. Refreshing on a hot day, dull as an average.

Nightfall (1280) - Hamburg, GERMANY - JUN 28, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2008 Very similar to Heineken, but i prefer it’s flavor. Quite a good supplement to greek food when it’s really cold.

Light gold body. Aroma of wet dog and some grass. There is also a little hint of earthy honey. The taste has carrots and a little sweet peanuts. Better than I was expecting, ut that is not saying much.

sayravai (4654) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 8, 2005
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2009 (Bottled, 4.7% ABV) Clear, deep golden with a medium, quickly descending head. Aroma of corny maltiness, and hints of grassy hops and honey. Corny-buttery-malty, flavor with some grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Quite light-bodied, but not watery and reasonably refreshing with balanced carbonation. Quite drinkable lager with slight diacetyl and hop bitterness giving it a touch of personality. (Bottled, from Greece, BBE 06/2007, was 4-3-3-2-7) Clear golden color with a medium to large, foamy and cloudy head, and some lace. Sharply grassy-hoppy, even slightly skunky aroma with some ricey-corny maltiness. Corny-malty, sweetish, moderately acidic, mild flavor with almost no finish. Some alcohol presence. Quite light-bodied palate with foamy carbonation. A sharply hoppy (mostly in the aroma), thin and acidic brew - not exactly my kind of beer, but some credit must be given to the surprisingly hoppy aroma.(Bottled, from Tallinn, was 4-2-3-2-7=1.8) Very pale golden color with almost no head. Sweet-honeyish aroma with reasonably crisp, a bit harsh hopping. Corny, a bit unclean flavor with a mild, bitter and crisp finish. Light-bodied and fizzy-carbonated palate. A reasonably refreshing and pilsner-like, but a bit harsh and quite boring brew.

Clear yellow, big foamy white head, Horrible sour, skunky aroma. Thin, grainy, mildly grassy flavor. Crisp hoppy finish.
