Ljunkan (95), Karlstad, Sweden Jan 23, 2008 Updated: Mar 24, 2008Bottle at Bishops Arms, Karlstad, Sweden. Mm, this was a good one. Much taste of smoked sausage in this beer, but also some fruit. Something I would like to try again. Rastacouere (5196), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 3, 2007 Bottle at Oliver Twist little improvised festival for the Denmark-Sweden Football matchup of June 2nd. Lightly hazy deep orange hue. The off-white cover lasts atop it. A fruity one, very apricot-like, dried fruits without all the sweetness. Too tight malted to be juicy. Intense for an unbelievable 4.4% and full bodied with cleansing, smooth carbonation that develops more as it warms. Less smokey than the Bästa, but possibly more complex and more fun to drink in the long run. Fair ham notes and cookie toastiness are also part of the deal. rickgordon (2947), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 19, 2007 On draught at The Rover, Göteborg.
Dark amber colour. Rich head with ice-cream appearance. Pronounced smokiness in aroma, yet not overwhelming. Touch of smoked sausage or meat, not ashy. Very lively mouthfeel, with ashy smokiness. Bit fruity in the background. Light bodied. Mix of Anders Göranssons Rököl and Slättöl. oh6gdx (5000), Vaasa, Finland Apr 18, 2007 Draught. Copper colour, small beigeish head. Aroma is smoked, leathery and malty. Flavour has some smoke, tar, leather, caramel malts as well as some fruity bittery notes in background. Marsiblursi (1248), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 10, 2007 Updated: Apr 11, 2007(Draught) Pours dark copper red. Smoky and tarry aroma with maybe some subtle fruitiness under all the smoke. Medium smoky flavour with some hops also present. Round mouthfeel with some tiny hints of chocolate like smoothness. Lingering, ashy smokiness and late, light bitterness. Light to medium body.
