Maria (3750), Thisted, Denmark Aug 3, 2007 Golden with a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma is fruity with notes of citrus and caramel. The flavour has a nice caramel base, that’s smooth and slightly sweet, and it’s fruity with notes of peach and lots of citrus and a nice grapefruit-bitterness. Charming indeed. 2427
ekstedt (1711), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 8, 2007 Bottle. Hazy amber with a fluufy off-white head. Creamy and toffeish malt mixes well with strong floral hops, and some fruity notes as well. Medium bodied and very smooth. Excellent balance with a long bitter finish. Another great beer from närke, though it feels more like a strong IPA than a DIPA. Rastacouere (5196), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 3, 2007 Bottle at Oliver Twist little improvised festival for the Denmark-Sweden Football matchup of June 2nd. Fine yellowy head covers the pretty gold opaque pour. Hop oils are intense in the nose that is piney sappy and boasts massive orange and fresh pink grapefruits. Behind that scene, malts are mostly pale, but upon tasting, the crystals are reveales in their strong sweetness, also rather juicy, so it integrates quite well. The palate is a tiny bubble foam, hugely comfortable and rolling on the tongue without a bite. Meanwhile, citrus flavours expand amidst floral notes. The sweetness clearly fades while the thickness stays and the path is opened for a strikingly long finish and ultimately balanced bitterness, a zesty, mandarine-like finish. thebeertourist (1671), Oslo, Norway Apr 27, 2007 Small bottle@The Rover, Gothenburg. Hazy orangey colour with a big Duvel-like head, though more offwhite-coloured. Fruity hop aroma, mostly grapefruit, but also apples. Very fruity flavours, even a hint of oranges, solid bitterness. Full-bodied, good carbonation. More an IPA than the hoogblond the name alludes to. Great! Bov (4559), Bienne, Switzerland Apr 9, 2007 courtesy of Per Samuelsson - slightly amber colour and a little foam; huge hoppy aroma showing notes of apricot and cream; full-bodied, lively and soft palate, some sweetness before a powerful bitterness; very long hoppy, fruity finish - a hop bomb which manages to be balanced; what a beer !
