larsniclas (2735), Gothenburg, Sweden Aug 10, 2007 Draught at The Rover, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Amber with a creamy, white head.
Fruity and a bit hoppy aroma.
Smooth and soft palate.
Citric hoppiness and not that bitter; medium. gnoff (2540), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 5, 2007 (Draught at The Rover) Shady amber color, fluffy white head. Faint hoppy and fruity sweet scent. Nice fruity citrus hoppy bitter taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. In a blind tasting I would have guessed this to be an American Pale Ale for sure. Rastacouere (5202), Montréal, Quebec, Canada May 31, 2007 Draught, Mackinlay’s Inn. Huge mushroom of a head covers the hazy pure 24kr gold. This one holds a summer feel to it. Excellent malt extraction provokes pleasant grainy notes, soft cereals, sweetish canned fruits in their juice and a mild tartness to complete the drinkable nature. Almost ricey in its underlying sweetness. The whole picture is completed by elegant flowery hops, bringing forward an honest sandy bitterness. So that S serie from Närke apparently takes old traditional swedish hops and try to make something good out of them. They don’t go for the most malty recipes underneath to allow the hop character to be fully showcased, which does not bring the best ratings, but it’s a fine project and if anything, that hop brand felt like a tamer simcoe, more noble. omhper (10145), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 4, 2007 Bottled at Tegnérs Gömställe, Stockholm. Pale amber, creamy head. Citric lychee aroma with some tangerine. Medium sweet with soft bready malt and some some spritzyness. Drier salty finish with medium bitterness. Pleasant malt profile. The hops gives some interesting aromas, but it is rather subdued. rlgk (2944), Motala, Sweden Apr 4, 2007 Draught at Bishops Arms, Örebro. Golden color with a white head. Fruity and somewhat hoppy aroma. Fruity hoppy flavor, some apples and some grape. Grassy notes and with a dryish hoppy finish.
