JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jun 13, 2007 Dark and clear brownish red.
Lots of malts, with a slight hop astringency in the background. Some drying, roasted coconut, light chocolate macaroon. Some grassy notes too. Okay beer; not a brown ale fan.
plovmand (525), Helsinge, Denmark Aug 29, 2008 Bottle at Ulfborg RB tasting. Thanks yngwie. The beer poured dark brown with a small white head. Nutty aroma with some caramel. Flavour is malty with notes of caramel but also some weird platic thing. Bit thin palate. Dedollewaitor (2036), Odense, Denmark Aug 26, 2008 50cl bottle: Thanks to Yngwar. Pours dark brown with a off white bubbly head. Nose & taste is sweet & dusty of nuts & caramel. A bit thin palate. Ok! mdm46410 (554), Griffith, Indiana, USA Aug 25, 2008 Poured from a 500ml bottle and served in a Bell’s dimpled mug. This beer poured a dark, mahogany brown with a thin head of lasting tan foam. The aroma of the beer was made up of nuts, sweet caramel, a bit of sugary molasses, and an overall nice roasted note. The flavor consisted of caramelized sugar, molasses, a bit of cold coffee, dry roasted nuts, and a quick, spicy hop finish. The mouthfeel was light-bodied with a moderate amount of lively carbonation. A well made brown ale. A pleasant surprise. JK54B (291), Finland Aug 16, 2008 0.5 L bottle from Sello-Market. Pale brown head although fast dissappearing. Some coffee in the nose. Dark brownish colur. Strong taste of coffee and malts. Also hoppy taste. Some hints of licorice and chocolate available. checkmatei1 (244), Willow Grove, USA Aug 4, 2008 Bottle: Poured a dark brown color with a nice tan head. The aroma was sweet coffee and caramel malts. The flavor was the same but with a light hoppy finish. Overall, an excellent Brown Ale...one of my favorites so far.
