SpringsLicker (1812), Tennessee, USA Apr 8, 2008 Clear dark brown pour that shows lots of ruby highlights under a moderately sized light tan head.
Chocolate aroma with a touch of coffee.
Smooth medium body, lightly sweet with a long chocolate finish.
Very tasty.
JK54B (269), Finland Aug 16, 2008 0.5 L bottle from Sello-Market. Pale brown head although fast dissappearing. Some coffee in the nose. Dark brownish colur. Strong taste of coffee and malts. Also hoppy taste. Some hints of licorice and chocolate available. checkmatei1 (239), Willow Grove, USA Aug 4, 2008 Bottle: Poured a dark brown color with a nice tan head. The aroma was sweet coffee and caramel malts. The flavor was the same but with a light hoppy finish. Overall, an excellent Brown Ale...one of my favorites so far. timsilvia32 (183), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Jul 31, 2008 Solid brown pour, cream colored head. Surprisingly floral aroma, some roast malt and nuttiness. Nice malt with caramel, a very slight molasses and more hop character than usual for a brown. A very clean and well balanced brown. Nogne does a good job with this. Outside the box for a brown. hotstuff (3038), Indiana, USA Jul 31, 2008 Bottle. Appearance = A medium sized semi-fizzy tan head that mostly diminished, ample amount of lacing, transparent, visible carbonation, and a reddish brown hue. Aroma = Malty, caramel, hoppy, some spicyness, and chocolate. Flavor = Sweet, malty, chocolate, caramel, slightly roasty, and mildly hoppy. Mouthfeel = Mildly tingly. Body = Medium. Very quaffable, easy to drink, fairly balanced, and I would drink this one again. I am miffed at the low ratings. CamdenD (570), Madrid, Spain Jul 18, 2008 Surprisingly strong brown ale for a 4.5 abv. This is my first offering from Nogne, and I’m very impressed. Usually not a fan of brown ales, I am impressed by this one due to its unique hopped aftertaste but minus any citrus that would be unwelcome in such a beer. Well done.
