This is a very nice beer i hope to taste again. tarjei (1300), Bryne, Norway Feb 27, 2008 50 cl bottle, bought in Copenhagen by my friend Bjørnar; thank you! This Norwegian beer is not for regular sale in Norway, only in a few bars... The color is unclear brown, orange, amber. The head is beige and very big, with a lovely creamy top. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavor is sweet (caramel), fruity (banana), typical belgian yeast, hops, but not much bitterness, malt, some acidicity - has a bit of the Nøgne Ø flavor that I love. Hides the alcohol well. Very easy drinkin´ beer, but also complex. Nøgne Ø goes new ways, and that´s great! Ole_R (1289), Oslo, Norway Feb 20, 2008 Lightly tanned, thick, dense and stable head, leaving fine laces. Unclear, dark copper brown color. Lots of Belgo-yeast and a wide rage of inviting fruits in the aroma. Apples, banana, apricot and dates detected. Notes of spices, cream-caramel and bubblegum, also some pleasant whiffs of flowers and earth. Taste starts fruity-acidic-sweet. Then the refined bittering hops kicks in along with a soft and pure sweet maltiness. Tones of spices and caramel underneath. Well-bodied. Smooth and clean mouthfeel. A more distinct hopbitterness appears in the finish, together with more fruits and spices. A morish, elegant and powerful ’Belgian’ from Nøgne Ø. (rating is based on notes from a sample during the ’Norwegian Ratebeer Winter Gathering’-trip to Lillehammer Bryggeri, and a 500 ml bottle enjoyed at Bar&Cigar, Oslo) omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Mar 13, 2008 Bottled. Pale amber, rich airy head. Flowery yeasty nose. Very soft and near full bodied with marked malt sweetness. Almondy and caramelly with notes of honey. Some late herbal bitterness. Well balanced and laid back, very Belgian in style. kkearn (689), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 6, 2008 500mL bottle. (Thanks to lagomswedish). Batch 331, brewed 051207. Pours medium amber with a fairly large off white head that persists until the final sip. Aroma is yeasty, with some clove, spice and perfume notes. Wheat and yeast come through in the flavor, along with caramel malt, clove and other spices. Long, wheaty finish. Nice beer.
